I'm just against the insults against Bioware's charachter, hacking is a constant it will always happen, how it will happen is difficult to predict lets take for example how Steam approaches hacking. Steam looks for odd behavior and once they have determined a new hack/aimbot/whatever that is being used they document all instances of people using it. After a period of time during which they accrue a list of people cheating they ban them all.

This is pretty much all you can do against hacking, after the fact bannings. I see a fallacy in saying that because there is hacking the programmers are idiots.

You are free to believe whatever you want. The hackers even went out of their way to warn Bioware prior to the game's release that the network architecture was broken and would be exploited to the max, easily, if they didn't change the whole thing. That's saying something.

By this description a fix would take time and would require testing before implementation, they are probably trying to figure something out right now.

I'd like another reply from Jarret or another Bioware person to let us know that we won't accidentally get hit by the ban hammer. I mean now that I know 15k or so is the max I guess I can play and just check to make sure I don't get more than that each time but still...

Yes I too would like a statement especially since I'm currently sitting on 500000 credits

Damn yeah you definitely played in a hacked them then and see that's where the bullcrap with this lies... you are sitting on those credits because you are an honest player who knows it's not legit... but there is still a risk they might see those credits and go "OMG he hacked"  and swing the ban hammer at you.  Or, if you make sure to keep that 500000 unspent but spend seemingly legit earned money... you still risk a ban... so basically you have even more reason to fear playing the game you paid for because of this...

ME3 is not broken, it works exactly like any other shooter game out there. No exceptions. Show me one shooter game, which doesnt work like me3. There are none. You people have really weird beliefs.

Solution is the same as in other games. Whitelisted server list. As in the MatchMaker will not see and use modded games, per default. Could only invite to a modded game. Problem solved. This is already implemented in UE2, so i guess it will take Bioware about a year or two to find and enable this option in UE3.

Your first mistake was using the credits when you knew it was wrong.

He didn't know it was wrong.  He may have known it was irregular, but any conclusion beyond that is unjustified.

So assuming that we play a game (completely unintentionally) hosted by someone cheating and we get 50000/etc credits, what do we do to avoid being banned?

Just to give you guys an idea of what's currently 'normal' (Mar 10, 2012)

-These are completed matches (full rewards plus the little time bonuses)

Bronze: 10-20k
Silver 30-40k
Gold 60-80k

Anywhere in those ranges is legit and obviously a degree above and below but certainly not 100k a win on silver or 500k on gold. They may patch the rewards to be more or less, however.

The only out of the norm amount I got was in the 10s of millions, just a ridiculously out of whack and obviously glitched or hacked number like 70+ million. It was just some giant string of random numbers.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that he received 5 million and I think that what I read early on in the demo was someone unwittingly receiving 2 million.. those numbers, like mine, are clearly wrong.
