Sorry but this is a joke. If this isn't resolved by tonight, this is the last Bioware game I buy.

Satender: Please let me check this.
you: ok
Satender: Do you have any other case id?
you: Nope, that's the one.
Satender: Please give me a brief description of your issue.
you: I got banned from multiplayer in mass effect 3 due to 'suspected credit hacking', a bioware representative should have contacted ea to request that I was unbanned re: this thread http://social.biowar...index/9689886/4
you: this has banned me from playing single player aswell
Satender: I see!
you: the representative i spoke to yesterday said that it was escalated to the senior team
Satender: May I have your email id, please so I can check your account details?
you: aXXXXXXing.co.uk
Satender: Please let me check your account.
you: ok, thanks :)
Satender: I think, you can play the game in single player mode.

you: when I log into game it says "unable to authorise dlc'
you: and when I try to load my save game it says the same thing then won't load
you: because I can't log into the network in game
Satender: All right.
Satender: May I have your date of birth, please?
you: XXXXXXXXX
Satender: Thank you.
Satender: Please let me escalate this to our Expert Team. I didn't get any case which is escalated for this issue in your account.

Decided to try again, got through to a different person. Clearly the first one was lying to just try and get rid of me.

Just out of interest? Do you guys at Bioware actually LIKE working with EA? I know you're probably not allowed to say yay or nay, but surely you can't enjoy this partnership?

Hi guys, real quick: cheating is a top item under review/investigation by the live team. We'll have more info soon, but I'll pass along your situation (OP) to them to look at fixing you up. Please note that the intention is NOT to ban people who are "victims" of these kinds of hacks (ie got credits they didn't ask for). If this happens to you, I recommend not spending them :)

Why not perform the check and just disregard the hacked character?

I for one enjoy modding my game so that we can play together on our LAN the way we would like to. Players do this all the time with games such as Call of Duty, Ghost Recon Online, Crysis etc. and it isn't a problem.

Why wasn't the game designed to allow for, and support this without affecting any "official" characters?

Also, a multiplayer ban should in no way invalidate single player. People paid a lot of money for their game, and because of this type of DRM they are prevented from using the product they paid for, it's ridiculous.

As long as what I do doesn't affect other players, then I should be able to do whatever I want. There are technical ways to allow for just that, and instead of preventing people from using their product these technical solutions should have been implemented.

Lol, this really is ridiculous...Who the hell do EA think they are to play boss over their customers like this? They're making everything so difficult that in the long run gaming isn't fun anymore. If playing multiplayer may lead to me becoming paranoid about every match, if playing single player means that I gotta bear with crap like the messed up imports and f*cked up face codes, sorry, but then I'd much rather prefer to read a book. Most people play games to relax, Bioware/EA is making playing games a chore. :/

This is beyond a chore. I suffered a nervous breakdown last month after my girlfriend broke up with me and i managed to estrange myself from my father. Now this is making me feel physically ill. Mass Effect 3 was the one shining light that I was looking forward to, the one thing I could relax and enjoy, and now the whole experience is ruined.

I was due to go to a convention next weekend aswell but now two of my employees have had a car accident and it looks like I'm gonna have to work both this weekend and next weekend aswell. Honestly, EA picked the absolute worst time to do this to me. I don't really boycott ANYTHING - I supported EA creating a client to try and compete with Steams monopoly and was probably one of the first people to download and use Origin, even when it sucked.

But this has left such a sour taste in my mouth that I really can't see myself ever buying another EA game. Games are meant to be a way to get relief from stress, not a stress causer. Once I'm done with Mass Effect 3 (if I ever get to play it again), I'm uninstalling origin and forgetting about EA as a publisher.

From what I hear it's easy to mod the multiplayer files. Got into a game once that spawned nothing but Atlas (during the demo period), and saw a video of someone that had nothing but Banshee spawns. I imagine being able to change the credit reward amount wouldn't be too hard. Thanks for the heads up though OP, will look out for that when I do random games.

I know my real life problems are totally irrelevant to this case, I just wanted to try and justify my boycott.

I'm sorry, bioware, I really am. I love you as a developer, you're one of the only developers remaining who can actually tell a good story and keep me interested all the way through a game. My friends take the mick out of me for having played Dragon Age 2 through multiple times and enjoyed it. Honestly up to this week I was singing your praises and trying to defend you. But I just can't deal with this ever again, it's just too much :(

Yeah.. I do not want to be one of "those" guys, but to me, you just need to read the name of the guy who was being very unhelpful and the one who was very helpful to understand it all.

Happens to me a lot, and not necessarily EA related. and if f it is a coincidence, then is a very frequent coincidence...

Wow, those are INCREDIBLY ridiculous... Every single one of them.
I'm actually kind of amazed...

EDIT: Furthermore, I'm sorry about your situation. Hope they can fix it soon... I understand you: I also reserved my weekend to play Mass Effect 3! If I couldn't, I would be blasting down EA support right now...
Also, now I will never ever ever play ME3 multiplayer. Wanted to play it for Galactic Readiness (BTW, implementing multiplayer was one thing, but making it affect single-player is just... A bad idea.), but now I won't.

Hey there, Semtex Jack!

I just wanted to let you know that I (and most users, I guess) understand your problem and feel for you.

But before bringing down the banhammer of boycott maybe give them a little more time.

Being in the industry myself, I know that those departments are often understaffed, underprivileged, only have limited access to actual information and tools necesary to get anything done and are chronically overworked.

I don't want to be apologetic of them - the ban was absolute BS, but give them some more time to solve it.
Also keep pressing them. People tend to do nothing if you don't remind them on a regular basis - in a case like yours this regular basis might be every 2 hours or something like that.

Good luck bro!

^What he said.

Also, when this whole thing turns out to get you unbanned and more caution towards next cases, I can imagine a cheater hunt will start ... everyone will be wanting to get into such matches to get all the sweet money without getting banned. [/always looking on the bright side]

Have you already PM'ed our CM on that by the way? I am certain he can get things rolling, at least in preparation for future cases such as this.

Thanks bud, that's a really kind message.

And I have nothing whatsoever against Bioware, I still love them. The problem is I'm having to go through EA and they're the ones who cause problems. And it looks like that will be the way with all future Bioware games. I'd rather have bought the game on Steam.

There should really be some sort of video games industry watchdog or something, things like this wouldn't be accepted in any other industry.

Sure. I was aware that you have to deal with EA. That's why I wrote this message - I heared stories about how EA treats their own employees... They maybe haven't slept since ME3 is out.

Steam on the other hand isn't the land of green meadows and rainbows either. There are difficulties and unsolved stuff there as well.

The Videogame Watchdogs you could call in cases like theese would be nice, tho.

I'd personally would endorse a whole now videogame "industry" settled around customer support. Third party contractors handling the support. Those people would have to compete against each other and violá, slow but steady increase in quality once the offset in simply being cheap has been broken.

Imagine competent, well enough paid and treated people helping you for a living, being polite and helpful because that is entirely what they asked for when applying for that job.

Damn, I would work for those if it meant we'd get free games from the developers/publishers/franchises we care for. Totally.
