Hi guys, real quick: cheating is a top item under review/investigation by the live team. We'll have more info soon, but I'll pass along your situation (OP) to them to look at fixing you up. Please note that the intention is NOT to ban people who are "victims" of these kinds of hacks (ie got credits they didn't ask for). If this happens to you, I recommend not spending them
then how the hell we will expend our REAL credits after other gameplays?
how we know WHEN it is safe to expend our credits?

I disagree with you. You weren't cheating. You didn't do anything wrong. You played the game fairly, and were rewarded with credits. I see nothing wrong with spending those credits.Semtex Jack wrote...
In the opening post, I said that yes, it's fair enough me getting banned, since I was stupid enough to spend the credits.
So you are working at a gas station and someone busts open the safe and robs the place. The crook offers you money for being there, you can: a) call the cops and turn orspend it and say i didn't it was wrong, I didn't take it intially. Wonder which will get a stint in the pokey?
your logic is wrong..
since the game wont tell you nor you will know if the gameplay was hacked or not.
not many people take every win/loss credits into account..
and I sometimes skip the resume of the won/loss match to play another match quick.
the correct way would be..
a) thief disguised robs the place
c) and in the end of the day the "new guy"(aka thief witouth his disguise) gives you sum for being a nice employee.

That isn't a fix, you have to fix the multiplayer, or at least separate it from the SP so in the odd case we get banned for having several millions on hand, then we can at least play the game on SP...

This one is appalling. If you didn't break or hack the game, then you're not exploiting it.ElHein wrote...

Am I the only one thats thinking that you should'nt have bought all those spectre packs for all those millions of credits that you got by "accidentally" joining a game that had been modded?
Your alarm bells should've rung the moment you saw that you had gained millions of credits, and you should've contacted bioware/EA to sort it out. Its like finding a wallet on the street with 100.000$ in it and you spending it, and not expecting to get punished for it...
Now it sucks that you cant play your DLC, but getting banned is legit in this situation.
Yes you are. The OP did NOT modify his files. He didn't cheat. The problem was with the game itself. That is biowares fault. If you find 20 bucks on the street guess what. Possession is a huge part of the law. Unless someone can actually prove that 20 bucks is theirs then its legally yours.

they will probably have to implement a "credits are awarded by the server" just like they do with the items?
In the meantime he should be unbanned. It's impossible that someone can't even play dlcs with a banned account (and the fact that I can't play dlc while offline It's really crap).

A server(what you call a "host") cannot cheat its impossible. What happened is that the server run a set of modified rules for the game. Higher rewards in this case. But it could be anything, even completely unnoticeable to the user. And it seems Origin looks for account inconsistencies and bans everyone, which is the right way to do. But obviously it isnt instant, so lots of people get affected. How do they resolve the situation i dont know, i dont think it is possible without lots of rewriting, but im highly amused and curious about the outcome. And future butthurt.Never_Forget wrote...
Since I've yet to try the MP, is there a way to tell if the host is cheating and leave before the Ban-hammer hits your head?

Edit to add: You need dedicated servers to enforce rules (and even that can't possibly stop things like aimbots - ask any security engineer if you don't see why).

A dedicated server is just a game without the graphics and has nothing to do with anything. Servers cannot cheat by definition. Everything they have is passed to clients as a rule, always. Which is what happened here. Ask your local security engineer for details, lol.AlexMBrennan wrote...

Troll Effect 3. Create custom game - ban other people from playing all their games.

Why are you apologizing? You're well in your right to do that. But with how little the gaming press has actually been keeping track or posting news of all the crap EA is pulling I wouldn't hold your breath. The only thing I've seen is on Kotaku in regards to Tali's face and that article was pretty much a joke.
Your best bet would probably go to Rock, Paper, Shotgun in my opinion since they're a solely a PC user website and I've noticed they like to look after user rights.
Hell if I get banned because of what happened today with my girl friend I'll add my name to yours.

What a joke.
I think I should apply for a job as Quality Assurance Tester with EA. The amount of bad press, bugs, complaints and bizarre banning incidents involved with its games would mean I'd never be out of work.
Seriously.
