Since I'm being forced to go through EA for customer support, and they're now ignoring all correspondence from me and refusing to either refund the money for the game or provide me access to the software, I can't see any other route than to seek legal advice on Monday, and see about contacting the office of fair trading.

Actually.. I just realised that the only other game on my Origin account that I care about is Mass Effect 1, and this whole ordeal has just left such a sour taste in my mouth that I may aswell just save my time and effort and start a card chargeback on Monday with my bank.

It's EA customer service, do you really expect them to move this fast?

I'd get that chargeback started in any case, I wouldn't support a company who treated me like this.

Question though? Is my bioware social account linked into my origin account? If I get banned from Origin for placing a chargeback, will I still be able to access Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2 DLC?

I think Origin and EA Master accounts are interlocked by now, don't know for sure.

See pic on the previous page. Any EA game you have on your account would also be unavailable. This includes ME2 DLC yes. So no, you will not be able to access that. Assuming its the same account . You can check what is what, by logging into Origin with this forum's login data.

Great, we are almost forced to play MP to get the best ending (really hard otherwise), now if WE DO play it.
We will get banned from the whole game.

GJ,, *slow applause*....

This cements it even more, I am never going to touch the infected bannable MP mode, EVER!

Jack, have you tried maybe sending the Bioware rep who responded back on page 4 or whatever it was a PM? Just let him know you still can't play, and if there is a timeline on when your account issue will be resolved given that it's been several days now.

Your first mistake was using the credits when you knew it was wrong.

I mean you shouldn't have gotten banned for it, EA/BioWare should have inquired about it, but in their defense, they probably look and just assumed you exploited it to abuse the system and get a ton of creds, which they must not be fond of since they're charging 160 Microsoft Points for those Spectre packs. Quite a bit of coin for those that are dumb enough to pay the price.

I would have contacted them about it before using it. Then again I would have been miserable if they banned me from the multiplayer experience.

Oh please. I've played multiplayer for 12 hours and somehow haven't been banned. One bad experience is enough to scare you away?

So how do we know that the amount of credits/xp we get is legit?

Well, I guess I'm not touching multiplayer.

They need to hire people who mod/hack their games so that they can find out stuff like this before release..

We had a thread going about how easy it was to mod the file to do things like this. It got deleted without a word and we knew things would go badly from that point on.

I suspected they would crack down, but I would have hoped they would ban the hosting player with the hacked file and not the poor folks who connected to it without a clue anything was wrong until the end of the match......oh wait, this is EA, sorry, what was I thinking there?

Then again they weren't smart enough to control things like that server side on their end, so I guess that shows you how much thought went into the whole MP thing.

Between that and the endings, it's just a total ruination of what was once a stellar game series.

Can this happen on 360? Because if it can, no way I´ll be playing with nobody except friends...

No, RKB28, this is pretty much a PC version issue, which doesn't negate the seriousness of the problem, but does make MP safe for console players.

It's quite funny how the original chat advisor asked me to wait 5-6 hours then try contacting chat again, and now EA live chat has been down all weekend.

Jack - unfortunately the data analysis on your account does not entirely support your story. I'll leave it at that and not make this awkward (I can only go by what I'm told by the back-end teams). I had them double check the data, and didn't take this lightly.
What I have done is reach out to the teams to investigate why you can't access your single-player game and/or DLC.  It may take some time, as we have to evaluate the best course of action here. Also, I'd rather not discuss over PM simply because I'm not really a customer service person, per se.

I've got your case being looked at and it's being escalated, but I'll step out of this situation now because it's not really my territory.

360 can still be modded, and jtagged. You still have a risk on 360, just not as big.

You won't get in trouble if you don't spend millions of credits, if you report it you'll be safe.

Gamers always complain that nothing is done about cheaters, I think losing access to your account is a good punishment. OP knew he didn't earn those credits, that was his mistake. It's a risk you take when you have a game that tied to an account... You're actually responsible for that account.

Crap, forgot that the guys mod the hardware to run pirate executables. So back to my frends-only pledge...

What's the "normal" ammount of credits and xp you get in a full match? I earned 14000 credits and get from level 2 to level 6 in my first match (maybe I already had few credits before that match), after reading this I'm wondering if it's normal or not.

Is changing your fov is also bannable?

Get your whole origin account banned (and from all the MP games you have with it) because you suspected of cheating in the co-op part of a single player game is crazy. Not worth it.

These days the pirate ship seems safer.

After reading this thread I must admit I am pretty worried. I want to play multiplayer, but ok so a hacker who hacks for 1,000,000 credits is obvious... but what if it's an extra 1000? I wouldn't notice that... maybe an extra 5000 I might not notice either as not being normal.

This needs to be FIXED to protect those of us that aren't cheaters from getting our accounts banned for being in a game with a cheater and not realizing it.

Jarrett Lee, please tell us what is going to be done about this issue for the REST OF US that haven't yet been affected but could.
