I think she is well voiced though, its a believable character. In that shes a believable dull character.
Can I ask though... who is she, and why the hate?

I like her look better in ME3 than in real life.

Whos Jessica Chobot? - no seriously, who is she?. Is she an American celebrity of sorts or something?.

She's a reporter for IGN.com.

But realising that it is a cameo, its just stupid. Yvonne seems to be the only person who has transitioned her body into bioware games (semi)successfully, others just flop on their faces and feel forced.

Also to OP- you're in the majority who likes the ending? Please, don't make me laugh myself to death at this obvious 'pull-lie-out-of-ass' move. You've probably not ventured past BSN and into tumblr, reddit and gaming forum sites. Nearly everyone on the interwebz is going to tar and feather Bioware for the sh*t they pulled with Mass Effect 3.
The only reason why IGN gave Mass Effect a 9.5 and a 'near-perfect' review is because Bioware had cut some under-table deal with them to get Chobot onto the voice cast. So Bioware offers IGN a role for their star reporter that will boost IGN hitnumbers, and IGN in turn gives ME3 a ridiculously glowing review.

There's also something about Chobot's acting that irked me a few times. It felt like there were inflections on parts of words where there shouldn't be. Of course I am in no way fit to VO but it just didn't feel convincing enough.

I dont know who it is, but throughout Me3 I couldn't help but ask myself, what function does this character serve other than 10 points on the war effort? I got a really kind of braindead/dumb blonde vibe from her. I just didnt get it. One thing that crossed my mind was that she was merely an extra option for new players to 'romance', shes hot i'll give her that, but I didnt care for her.

Actually you get more than 10 points from her doing interviews with you throughout the game. Other than that you're pretty spot-on. I'd have rather they used an established character for that role instead like someone who survived the SM (KELLY after the SM becomes a reporter could have worked out then EVERYONE would have gotten back their fish to boot)

She only contributes 5 points to the war effort, and her voice acting is pretty goddamn bad. It's dull monotone the whole way through.

Her interview points do not appear by her name but in updated things on other assets. So you didn't give her any interviews but let her ride on your ship. Your fault. Because one she actually asks for the one in the cabin.

Seriously, how much you want to bet that the majority of players have no idea that Diana Allers is voiced by Jessica Chobot?
LOL. Voiced by Jessica Chobot? It IS Jessica Chobot!

I gave her all the interviews, and her accumulated points towards the war effort came up to...about 40. Excluding the 5 she brought with her name.
Eh, scanning planets does the job better.

Some two-bit "reporter" that no one cared about until she slept her way into the game.

I'm not disputing a "better job" but you did say she only gives 5 points originally.

I was thinking she was patterned after Snooki. Hell, I have never watched a single episode of Jersey Shore and thought that. I had to Google Jessica's name just to find out who she was.

You can talk to her and tell her to leave. But since the ending is the way it is, I thought it best to have her crash on Gilligan's Planet so she won't be seen again.

Diana Allers, on the other hand, is Pure Fail™. First of all, WHO thought that wife-beater dress was sexy? It's AWFUL. I mean, from the waist up she looks like she's about to run laps, or she would if she were wearing a bra. And the skirt of that dress makes her behind look huge. And not in a good way. Her voice acting comes off as snarky, even when she's supposed to be in the moment, and that tone is just at odds with the entire rest of the game. I get that she's a reporter, but I still think the tone of the performance is just not working within the fabric of the story. And unfortunately, Jessica Chobot is an example of a "lost in translation" face model. The real J.Cho is a very pretty girl, but digital Chobot needed some tweaking. You could drive the Mako through the nasolabial folds, and the heavy under-eye mascara and eye liner gives her a sleepy, heavy-lidded look. This character needed more work, and the actress needed more direction in her voice performance. That's my take.

When Diana is walking away after the cabin interview, this song pops into my head: www.youtube.com/watch
