Oh, so I'M the one dodging questions?  For the third time, what would IGN gain by having Jessica Chobot in the game, if the majority of people still have no idea who she is?  I've already admitted that you were right about her being in some interviews, but that doesn't change facts, the general public has no idea who she is, or that she's in the game.  Maybe she's just a lucky fan who got her wish.

P.S.  You never really asked me any questions, you just attacked me with baseless rebuttles.

You are dodging questions. You say it wasn't announced or publicised and people post links proving it was and you ignore them and continue to say it wasn't a big deal. Your just trolling here.

For the record it isn't anything like big bribes being swapped around. This is favours for favours. Chobot gets put in IGN use it for publicity, this gives ME3 more publicity which makes Bioware happy so they give IGN exclusive interviews and early looks at the game. It's not shady meetings at night with brown envelopes as some make out but it does make any kind of independant opinion from IGN null and void.

As for the game itself it isn't out here yet but from independant forums I trust it seems to be pretty dman good but there are problems such as animations, fov, textures, some bugs and other minor gripes that add up. Those mean it's a good game but by no means perfect.

It looks like a cheap bribe. What the public knows about EPIC FOR THE WIIIIIIN doesn't matter, as rigging IGN's reviews would be beneficial. Not only for ME-3, but possibly other EA titles.
The truth is we don't know. The real problem is that it looks bad when you think about it.

So what would IGN gain, by rigging the reviews for ME3, if the public knows nothing about Jessica Chobot in the game?

IGN wouldn't gain anything for rigging the review (that would be the payoff, but this is all theoretical anyway), but they would get a whole lot of notoriety for having Chobot in the game. It's like product placement, but with one of their people. A plug. A shout out. Clout. What other game publication can tout that they had one of their correspondents play a role in a major AAA title?

Whether it was IGN's idea or BioWare's, I just dont' see the point.

She's not a good voice actor and has no experience doing so, so why is she voice acting in a game where most other voice actors are fantastic?

She is an ok but not a great voice actor. Most VOs talk loudly and strongly, but she talks from the back of her throat instead of her gut. It makes her seem hesitant and uncertain, although that may be because it was her first VO job.

AlanC9: She licked a PSP on a review video from IGN.

The reporter who approaches you when you first dock at the Citadel.

I personally refused to let her on my ship; I didn't want the life of some inexpeienced reporter on my hands when we're travelling in dangerous territory.

I haven't heard from her since.

Oh, as for the reason she is in the game? Simples.

Someone from Bioware is, was or will be hitting that. And I aint talking domestic abuse ;)

Sure beats dinner and drinks, someone is a smooth operator :D

Huh, I have no idea who Jessica Chobot is but I had a feeling that Diana was modeled after somebody in the real world.

I haven't read all posts in here but my stance is that Jessica Chobot is a sexy/ beautiful girl (specific "ass-sets" might be a matter of individual, personal taste ofc) and who are we kidding really, everyone knows things are easier in life for sexy girls.

Personally I think that's at least part of where that hate comes from and if I look at how hard I have to work to make it through a month, afford ME3 and maybe another triple A game later this year (had to pass on Skyrim already) and then see how some d-list "celebrity-female-wannabe-gamer" makes their money in a blink of an eye I can imagine that grinds quite a few ppls gears.

But well that's how our society works, can you blame her she takes advantage of her god given (including the face, again, matter of taste; also note that I'm not saying god had anything to do with it if there even is one, just a figure of speech) or maybe not so much god given "assets", wouldn't you do the same if in the same position?

I don't know the first thing about this girl, a quick google search brings up a couple of ****ty pics but who are we to judge? I do know one thing tho, her voice acting is way better then Yvonne Strahovski's in ME2 (which was so bad I wanted to kill her char off; don't get me wrong I liked her as an actress in Chuck but this was just terrible).

I really do love how once a person appears in a game (as a fictional character i might add) everyone feels they're perfectly entitled to verbally bash that persons character, looks, and career.

Stay classy BSN

I don't have any problem with Chobot (truthfully, I had no idea who she was until ME3) but her character is practically useless as far as I can tell. Perhaps I'm wrong and just haven't reached a point where her presence will actually matter.

I just think she's a trollop.

AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN. It's not hard to think that when you see where her fame started from, not to mention that IGN is second only to UGO in its cavemannish objectification of 'gamer gurl' stereotypes. To let her solidify the suspicion that she is indeed a talentless hack? Sure, but in ME3? Why.

I hated her from the start but decided to give her a shot anyway. So I went and talked with her in the docks. I went away saying "No, no, no, no, NO, NO!"
Keep that uncanny valley face and terrible voice off my ship.

Funny thing about that hussy. I tweeted her today asking if I could punch her character/kill her in the game, she DMs me later saying 'Don't be a douche' (EXACT QUOTE) and blocks me. I had it coming, sure, but she must've been balls deep on someone at BW to be in that game. I definitely didn't let her be on my Normandy.

IGN definitely favoured the ME3 review. Now, I definitely think ME3 deserves high praise, but screw Jessica C. Big time.

She has been bashed long before the whole ME3 thing. She's one of many good looking women who have popped up on gaming sites despite not having any interest or knowledge of games. This has had two reactions the "OMG!!! A GIRL GAMING SO COOL!!" or "OMG!! SHE KNOWS NOTHING GET RID!!!" So yeah the ME3 thing is just an extra reason to dislike or like her not the main cause.

I still don't know why she was even on my ship. Or even in-game, for that matter. There were like, two ten second interviews.

Can I have Zaeed back? He didn't talk much either but at least he shot at stuff.

This whole thread is hilarious. 99% of the people who buy ME3 either won't care about Allers or won't know or care that she's voiced by Chobot. If IGN hopes this will somehow bring huge amounts of publicity to them, they're completely delusional.

Yes, Chobot is in the game as "nerd bait", but let's face it: ALL of the romances are "nerd bait". And you're delusional too if you think otherwise.

Chobot is the kind of bait that one fisherman uses. You know the guy. Fake plastic dangly bait, gets laughed at by the other fisherman with real, live bait?

She was promoted in the voice actors trailer. That's how this whole thing started in the first place.

Ridiculous to suggest this when lots of publications gave the game similar scores..... unless they only did that to make it look like IGN didnt inflate their score because an employee was in the cast... YOU'VE CRACKED IT Image IPB
