She got the job because she licked a PSP and is rather good looking. Imagine a not so good looking person licking a PSP, would you think that person would have been given a well paid job at IGN?

He/She didn't say that. They said that attractive women get places.

I don't entirely agree with you, seeing as he also states that he was surprised she got the IGN job and "shocked" (why?) she got the ME3 job.
But maybe I'm reading too much into it.  Some of the posts in this topic are a tad worse, anyway. If I've misinterpreted his post, I apologise.

There is no doubt she used her sexuality to get the job. The PSP licking was before she got the job. She was known for doing random things like that on the Internet before she got the IGN job. Are some of the statements here sexist? Absolutely. But that doesn't make them not true. She didn't get the job just based on merit or education but if you think about it we'd all use any advantage to get a good job like that. With that said do I want her in a game? Not really. But I also don't care that much.

If I were sexist I would not have female friends.The opinion I stated was based on experience and long yeara of witnessing examples.My boss is a gorgeous woman who got her job based on her qualifications, not her moist tongue.

I would at this point politely ask how she qualified for ME VO?

Then, as I said, I apologise for misinterpreting your post (and for saying it was sexist).
I don't know how she qualified to be a VO, though I would assume she'd have built up some contacts in the industry. More importantly, though, did she do a good job? (I probably won't get my copy before monday, anyway.)

I really don't know why she's in the game - her character is dull, her face looks ugly and her voice casting is worse than the rest. I have her on my Normandy only as war asset nothing more. Hell, even the other reporter (who you can punch) is way better character than she is.

I don't really consider her attractive or unattractve.She's pretty meh. I can't really comment on her voice because I haven't played the game yet but I like her little bits on the IGN videos. Personality goes a long way.

I for one dont hate the lady at all.I just hate the fickle nature of humanity.How you look matters in a lot of cases.If I was a woman and hot enough to get a job with IGN, I would not need to read lines off cue cards to do an episode of IGN strategise.That is because I am a gamer that actually plays games, reads about games and talks about games.

Again, how does someone who is not an actor or VO specialist get a bioware gig?

But...Jessica Chobot had absolutely nothing to do with the Mass Effect 3 review. It was reviewed by Colin Moriarty, who is not Jessica Chobot (they aren't even the same gender, though Colin does have several piercings).

What people seem to forget is that IGN doesn't review games--individual editors who work at IGN review games.
