Never knew who she was until the cast video release a while ago.

Kinda wish i still didnt know, what with all the chilidish complaints.

Though her ingame character looks odd with its chubby cheeks imo.  Its like they've tried to make her look like she does in real life, but havent tweaked her to fit into the game world imo.

I do wish Emily Wong was in the game though, liked her character in ME1. Shame she died on twitter instead

I really don't know anything about Jessica Chobot, but I disliked Diana Allers the moment I met her. Want to be on my ship? How about no.

Never brought her aboard, problem solved. Just glad she's completely optional.

I think I would've preffered Wong over Chobot.

I just doubled her ratings. The galaxy is burning, every organic species is dying by the millions daily, and her concern is getting more viewers. Her delivery conveys no sense of altruism or concern for the actual dying, just excitement at getting the scoop.

Basically, the Chobot character is a psychopath.

I have no idea who Jessica Chobot is, I never will, and I don't want to know.

If anyone thinks by putting her in the game they received a leg up in marketing something, they are greatly mistaken.

All I know is that Diana Allers looks like Snooki from Jersey Shore... and that makes me want to vomit in large convulsions.

Look, Abercrombie and Fitch actually PAID Jersey Shore actors not to wear their clothes in public and private because they are a horrific image for many reasons. I think Bioware should have done the same thing.

I don't dislike Allers. Truth be told, I'm completely indifferent towards her. I'm about 15 hours in and have had almost no dialogue with her. Hopefully later on she becomes more interesting. I must say however that given the fact that Chobot isn't a professional actress, she hasn't been bad at all. Not great, but pretty good.

Jessica Chobot? I didn't know who she was until last week and then I read a few of her articles on IGN. No offense...but how did she get a job writing on IGN?

Mind you, most IGN writers suck.

Really underused plotline. I was expecting her to follow me with a vidcam during missions and the like and see what she filmed afterwards. As it is, she's just a "tissue" on the Normandy really....if you get my meaning.

Corrupt backroom deals or no, her presence in the game AND as the face for a major (imo ****ty) gaming site creates a conflict of interest. She sure as hell isn't a talented enough actress for her presence in the game to be thought of as merely an Easter egg. She was picked, groomed, and shoehorned into the game. Totally agree. I have friends that don't even visit IGN or watch G4 and know who Chobot is. She is the pretty face for IGN, like Evangiline Lily was for G4TV back in the day. Except the later can act. 

Seriously, I think G4TV should of put Candice Bailey in it. At least she has acting creditentials.

It bothers me as an aspiring journalist for the video game industry. I know female gamers such as myself are on a 50/50 of being taken seriously. From someone who grew up playing games of all sorts and enjoys the hell out of them, people like Jessica Chobot make it difficult. I'll just quote myself here.

If I get anywhere in the journalism field and be able to do what Ive been going to school for, Im afraid of questions like "So which version of the PSP did you lick?"

As far as Allers goes, just a simple no from me. I tried. I let her on my ship, endured the horrible voice and terribad look of the character, and even gave her the interviews she desperately wanted. It just made me shutter the whole time. All for some damn points going to the war effort.

This. A thousand times this. Also, what was with her voice? She sounds normal when she's on iGN but here she sounded like she was trying to be a reporter from the 40s/50s with some sort of weird accent or talking out of the side of her mouth.

But otherwise, I just laughed at the whole thing. Especially when IGN made an article entitled "Is Mass Effect 3 Selling Out?"

Seriously, how much you want to bet that the majority of players have no idea that Diana Allers is voiced by Jessica Chobot?  It's not like it was advertised with the game; pretty much just the people on these forums know about it.  So, before you go making wild accusations, think: was it advertised anywhere?  Is IGN making anything off of it (besides bragging rights and pride for Jessica)?  Is it common knowledge?  Jump off your high-horse and get over it.  If it bothers you that much, don't play the game.

Actually according to formal logic the argument is valid. I don't have anything against Ms.Chobat, but she is no voice actor. Her lines were wooden and forced and that is the God's honest truth. Everybody knows that she was installed for laughs and as a bi-sexual option for the player. I have no qualms about the reasoning, just her job performance. She's good at her day job, I just think that she should stick to it.

I never talk to her on the Normandy, because she gives me the urge to immediately fall asleep. I'd almost rather have seen what's-her-face instead - you know, that chick from MotA?

Edit: Felicia Day. I must have blocked her out of my mind, because i had to look her up on imdb. I couldn't remember her name, for the life of me.

If that was true, then why not put some in there of actual noterity? Like Moragn Webb or heck even Adam Sessler, Adam actually knows the guys at Bioware, He's a huge fan of the series, and he's been a TV personality for over a decade. He does VO for X-play all the time so it wouldn't be a stretch fro him to do Voice acting.

Jessica Chobot has less fame and noterity then a Reality TV star.

If Bioware was simply looking to make a nod to the gaming journalisim comunity, there are tons more people, more popular, and more suited for that roll then Jessica Chobot.

Came here to say all of this. I like Ms. Chobot and all, but I would be happy to sacrifice Diana Allers to the Reapers.

Emily Wong should have been the reporter on my ship.
