I just beat the game and I have a question about the two squadmates you take with you:
Are the still alive?
The game never answered this. I know what happens to the rest of the crew but I want to know what happens to them. I choose the destroy option and had a high enought EMS for Shepard to survive.

i had ashley with me in london, she was in final cut scene so i did see it. its presumed all of them were on ship, that or you can say only the people that came out of the ship are alive
EDIT: also depends on edings i guess, but eith way ash was with me in london and then shes in normandy randomly so there ya go

depending on your choices your LI gets magically transported back into space if you take them with you. if you choose a certain option at the end you get magically transported back to earth on some rubble.

Thanks for the answers. it doesn't make any sense, but frankly, not much of the ending does make sense. otherwise an amazing game.

At the end of the game, your two 'favorite' companions end up on the Normandy running for their lives with no explanation as to why, as well as Joker and perhaps EDI.
Personally, I'm inclined to think that they died unless they were on the ship with Joker. Either that, or following the Crucible's installation, Joker picked up everyone he could, activated his drive core, and made for Deep Space on the assumption that something was about to blow up, leading to the scene in the game. But that is my opinion as the ending gives us so little to work from.
