I finally got a Turian Sentinel card, something I've been wanting as a Sentinel fanboy. I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to spread my skill points around, what weapon(s) to use and with which mods. In addition I was hoping to know how well they work in silver/gold.

I'll be soon hiting N7 120 rank :) and I used to hate sentinels due to the new Tech Armor. But now after playing/mastering all classes, Turian Sentinel is actually my favorite race+class to play on Silver-Gold. Ignore human sentinels, they're just crap. The key is all about this specific build:

Starting from Tier 4 to 6:

Tech Armor: Durability -> Power Damage -> Power Recharge

Warp: Absolutely no skill points here. You're not able to setup biotic combo with a Turian Sentinel so forget Warp.

Overload: Chain Overlod -> Recharge Speed -> Chain Overload. The best thing about overload is that it's effective against BOTH synthetic and organic. My favorite skill to use on multiplayer against everything. Overload can stagger protected enemies and also stun lock unproteced enemies for several secs. Recharge speed is favored because it further reduces recharge penalty resulting from wearing tech armor. The reason for max chain overload is for crowd control and you and your teamate will be thankful for that when the real waves of challenge comes.

Turian Veteran: Damage and Capacity -> Power Damage -> Damage and Stability (Note Tier 6 you can also choose to go for assault rifle weight reduction 30% if you favor to use heavier weight assual rifle at the cost of slower power usage. My personal favorite assault rifle is the M-15 Vindicator and you're able to reach max +200% power recharge bonus with this assault rile at around level 5. It does more damage than the Avenger and much higher accuracy. Mattock is heavier than Vindicator but slighter more powerful and more accurate. You'll want to go for -30% choice at tier 6 if you like to use Mattock or other heavier assault rifle. My advice is the Vindicator for about the same damage as Mattock because of +10% weapon damage skill at tier 6 and it has higher burst fire rate (Higher DPS). It's also easier to use and less spamming left mouse button.

Fitness: Durability -> Shield Recharge -> Fitness Expert.
Don't bother with melee, it's almost useless on Silver/Gold challenge games. With this specific Fitness build you'll have just over 2k Shield+Health all together! (2063 to be exact combined). Plus the additional 30% damage reduction from techarmor will make you the best tank in MP.

Have fun with this build :)

Only thing I disagree with in that build recommendation is taking the second overload chain at rank 6. The 100% boost to barrier/shield stripping will completely level a phantom/marauder/other relatively pain in the butt enemy down to health in one shot. To me, that's a less available skill than the crowd control you get from two chains. Both are good depending on the role you want to fill, though.

Agree on ditching warp, unless you have some buddies who always roll adept. Without combos, warp does good damage but really needs a rank 4 or 5 evolution to be worthwhile. Expose is awesome against Atlases, Brutes, and other heavily armored guys, but probably not worth the investment since the Turian's other 4 abilities are so good.

I to took the 100% boost to barrier/sheild stripping and i did notice a difference, but i did just get it last night so i havent fully developed a feel for it.

I also put points in warp, which sounds like it wasnt the best idea. My thought was if i can strip shields and barrier with overload and then damage armor with warp id be a huge asset to the team being able to effectivly strip any defense. Sounds like the other abilites are good enough though that it makes that idea less than ideal.

Im level 17 now sounds like ill be promoting and starting over soon, i really didnt expect to like the sentinal much.

As far as tech armor goes, i picked the reduction in power recharge rate and just leave it on 100% of the time.  Its the lazy mans way i guess.

What weapons is everyone using? Ive been using a Vindicator I (no upgrades for it yet) and the only AR mod i have is stability II (40%). I did pick up a Saber out of a spec pack last night used it solo for one round of broze and wasnt sold on the way it felt, It can one shot to the head and takes all but one/two bars off to the body. Single fire but slow. Maybe once i get some decent AR mods it will be better.

Warp can't set up biotic combos for yourself, but it can set one up for your team. Also, it can set you up for tech bursts.

Warp--->Overload does not do a Biotic burst. Overload--->Warp can do a tech burst but with faster overloads+200% weapon recharge I still cannot solo pull this off. Maybe be possible with Tech armor off but at that point why play a Sentinel at all.

Warp is a great ability but just seems not to work well with a Turian Sentinel.

Interesting advice so far. I've got a V M-37 Falcon, should I keep using that with a Turian Sentinel?

I havn't got the chance to get that assault rifle so I don't know about its weight penalty. It's best to get as close to +200% max power recharge bonus. Mind sharing your power recharge % with only equipping the Falcon and maxed increased weight capcity in Turian Veteran skill tree?

Remember that with the Turian Sentinel you have Overload AND Warp...making you a one man killing machine against armor AND shields. You are the ultimate utility character in that regard, not to mention the Tech Armor. (Use Overload on Shields, Warp on Armor)

Human engineer says hi.

Seriuosly though, while overload is a great skill, it shouldn't be the focus of the class, becasue then you'd be playing an engineer. Turians are gifted with guns, use them. So long as you don't fall below 100% recharge, you should be fine.

I made my Turian out to be a support character. I took warp for the damage bonuses so stuff dies quicker.

Get all the damage reduction talents for the Tech Armor, take all the shield talents in fitness, take weapon bonuses in the Turian Veteran tree and use the other points to max out Overloads damage. Then just equip whatever you want and become a walking tank.

Well, that's at least what I do anyways. The way I see it since you're always going to have tech armor on and it slows your power recharge why bother with it. I just keep the overload for the minibosses. IE Phantoms / Banshees.

Edit: Derp.

Every passive, focusing on Weapon Damage/Health/Shield
Tech Armor, focusing on Damage Protection
Overload, focusing on Chains and Incapacitate

Grats, you're the ultimate Tanky disabler.

Did my first silver play through with the Turian Sentinel. I wrecked face. Overload keep Geth shields down, and the M-37 Falcon staggered the crap outta them, I was able to more or less stagger lock six different Geth platforms at the same time when they were bunched up. Multiple Pyros became easy, all I had to do was Overload + Falcon spam, kept them flopping around so much they never got a chance to burn any shields. Thanks for the advice everyone.

It's a super versatile class. Definitely one of the most balanced for "unknown opponent" matches, regardless of whether or not you spend in warp.

I prefer maxing overload and using a carnifex with a scope. Neural Shock targets and blast them away. I had some warp for bursts if we needed them, but most of the time it did nothing to armor.

Went for a 6/6/5/6/3 build
Tech armor: Durability, power damage, power recharge
Warp: Detonate, lasting damage, pierce
Overload: Damage, neural shock
class passive: Damage and capacity, power damage, damage and stability
Fitness only to rank 3.

I use him with a Locust, and like to detonate tech bursts. He's great against Banshees and Brutes.
