It reminds me of Halo 3, but still how will the crew survive? Yes it is a nice world but without more of there species then they will all die in a decade.

Well, ignoring that the Sol relay doesn't link directly to any systems with habitable planets - it goes to Arcturus, which has a gas giant and the remnants of a space station...

Are you sure it was the Sol Relay that they got caught in? They could have jumped to another relay

I suppose they could have made a second relay jump, though I can't recall where the Arcturus primaries go offhand. Eden Prime? Terra Nova?
Anyway, there is one human colony within range of the Charon Relay. Terra Nova's Codex entry says it's the second colony and the first beyond the relay. The wiki says the first colony's called Demeter, but that must be from a novel or some such because the planet isn't in the game at all, except maybe in the crash scene.
