Err to be onhoust i didnt bother to check i turned off info uploading in options for single player modded my coalesced [for single player only] and i play offline / online.

So offline i get to enjoy playing how i want and online nothing is altered playing with origin in online mode and evrything. [havent tried anything as evasive as modding FOV though]
Mostly simple things get 150 stats at lvl 5 increased dificulty at insanity num8 / 9 for max para or rene num5 all weapons sirta sells all armor pieces at start of new game.

[wanted to play a solid action game with story i like + i read the books, dont wana go around lvling up collecting guns and armor pieces lols]

Would be silly if they banned folk for modding single player... then youd lose interest in the game before they come with DLC they wana make money off ;)

I made a project with my Coalesced if your interested

You know, I wonder if modding to increase your galactic readiness is ban-worthy if you never even use MP?

Not in my opinion. But then again I don't make the rules.

Don't think you get banned for sp mods on origin

Is there any way to add more armors like that of your companions or protagonists ( like it was with Jacob, Miranda in ME2). Perhaps character models from the multiplayer. Would be awesome if it was done :)

Gonna keep my fingers crossed if somebody can do it soon.

Well technically according to the EULA alterning any of the game code is forbidden. I get modding I really do but they are probably within their rights though I hope they would overlook those doing SP only. I have never felt the need to mod anything so that just works for me.

Why do you need to change coalesced.bin? If you are going to do it for the problem of war assets and EMS points just edit your saves instead of the coalesced and no one could ever ban you from MP.

It's easier to edit coalesced.bin once to, say, change Conrad's dissertation war asset value to 2000 than it is to edit the savefile on every individual playthrough.

I think vario is referring to single player only, in which case, since all the data is stored on your computer, how would they know?

If they're monitoring what people do in SINGLE player games it will really set a new precedent. I don't think anyone has been banned for altering a single player PC game before.

But I'm still online even when I play SP. They can still look at my game files.

And when I play offline what happens to my DLCs? Are they still available?

Your DLC is toast if you are offline.  Before I sh*tcanned this loser (ME3) I had several occasions when my internet connection was down.   I could NOT play SP at all (PC version).  It SUCKS.  I should be able to play all I want with  MY game whether or not I'm online.  The ONLY issue should be the obvious: no multiplayer.

I couldnt when Playing ME2 on the 360. I did download Zaeed, weapon pack Normandy crash site and the Firewalker pack?

As soon as I went off Live I couldnt play them. I ended up deleting them off me HDD and playing without any of them as I just couldnt believe the fact that if my Live ever went down then it'd take all of my save files with it that were associated with the DLC.

Utter crap in other words.

That really makes me angry.
ME2 worked great; why change?

This is just annoying... I am not able to mod my own game offline. The game I bought and the DLC's I bought. Although it should be a singleplayer game.
What are these people thinking they are doing?
Improving the situation?
I don't think so...

Wait for a crack to be released.  It's coming, don't worry.

I think it really depends on how many changes you need/want to do.
If you need only to change the value of war assets before the final mission you just need to do it once a playtrough. It's not  such a trouble and it's way safest than change a file that can bring you to a ban.

But I agree that if you want to change several things it's easiest to change them just once, then.

The solution in that case is just to keep two copies of the file, the original one, and the modified one, and to remember to switch between them depending on the way you are playing, MP or SP.

If you restrict yourself to playing single player, I don't think you have anything to fear from tweaking coalesced.bin - I've tweaked the file to increase the value of war assets to counter the effect of the "galactic readiness", which for me will always be 50%, due to me having no desire to play multiplayer.

And I've been playing with the tweaked file for a while now, and not in offline mode either - I just haven't touched multiplayer with a ten-foot-pole.

I have a couple of singleplayer tweaks and a camera mod for screenshots, I play multiplayer with the same coalesced.bin and haven't been banned.

So yeah, you'll definitely be safe.

I have only edited my coalesced.bin file so far to take the Reapers off the galaxy map, but I'm not planning to play any MP until I finish the single player campaign and put the original file back. It would be silly to get banned for that, but I don't want to take any chances.

If I download the DLCs, they are on my hard drive, right?

So it shouldn't be a problem to play offline, right?

Unless if they require constant authentication, instead of a one shot activation. But it would be weird if that was the case. (I don't know, though.)

It says "checking DLC" whenever I boot up ME3. It seems that they are indeed autheticizing constantly.

Also, lacking DLC that a character played with renders that character unplayable, IIRC.

would be nice to know from an official source, i'd like to add custom outfits to my shepards but that's not worth risking a banned account

I frankly believe that this is absolutely absurd. There is no reason why my SP modding should negatively affect any aspect of the game for others.

This is rather absurd. Is it absolutely certain? It seems more likely you'd be banned if it was modded and you were in multiplayer. But are they really going to ban people for using a modded one in SP? Can anyone confirm this? I mean to say, has anyone been banned because they were using a modded Coalesced in SP?

Oh, EA, Bioware, and Origin...you make pirating your games less of a hassle than legitimately buying them...

Yeah because editing the coalesced to increase FOV is cheating.

Whatever. <_<
