I literally takes 5 seconds to swap out disks.  This was the same for ME2.

If people are going to rant, rant about something that is actually worth ranting about...

on mass effect 2 we had to swap disk atleast 3 times and it wasnt constant swapping so it wasnt a problem on me 3 cant say the same. thats the issue alright? and we not BASHING here if you have noticed but people come here just to bash and hate the xbox stuff seriously just dont post here.

It is something worth complaining about when you are excessively swapping discs.

And its not like ME2 at all.  I guess you don't know jack.

I'd rather disc swap than install a required spyware program that I have to keep open to play the game.

He is talking about the Origin program that you need to run for the PC version of the game.

But thats irrelivant anyway.

I think it's a pretty excellent point... if you don't want to put up with the BS of disc swapping... better invest in a PS3 or PC.

An Xbox should not have to swap discs like this, it really shouldn't be a platform problem. I'm a PC ME player so it won't affect me but I can see why people are frustrated. Plenty of games come on more than one disc rarely do you have to swap discs constantly. Install extra content from one disc use the other to play from Forza did this and so have other games. The platform shouldn't be an issue here.

The game seems to be good from what I'm reading but there seem to be so many bad decisions planning and implementation wise. If you have a good game make sure it's not spoiled by silly things like disc swapping, it shouldn't be that hard to realise this.

Ok fair enough.  But I guess my point is that disk swapping occur in ME2 as well.  So that itself, b/c of xbox drive limitations, was expected.  But now people are upset b/c the amount of times you have to disc swap?

If that's a big issue for some? Fine.  I am just saying that it's insignifcant enough to me to not even notice....

what are you talking about ?

Origin; the intrusive spy program that monitiors your computer and all your interactions with it.

Given the choice of having to swap my discs every so often or have than on my computer; I'll take the swapping.

When your swapping discs every other missions, YES that is a problem.

I have played other games with multiple discs (Every Final Fantasy on PS1, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey) and swapping was never an issue in those games. I generally don't have a problem with disc swapping but in this case I do, because it is EXCESSIVE.

I think that people here don't know what the word EXCESSIVE means.

EXCESSIVE:   the necessary, proper or degree.

Hopefully that should help clear up some of the [confusion]

not compared to this issue though :S its really highly annoying... perhaps you are not seeing it that way cause you not having that problem, and about the pc spyware stuff well im sure you could contact the dev crew or someone to help you with some kind of *blocking* idk something thats what we doing here we want a possible patch for this stuff. nothing is impossible really not when you have internet and download options now.

Because a lot more stuff was on both discs in ME2, and they rearranged the plot to create choke points.

I would have liked them to take care of it on ME2 also but since the 360 did not introduce the option to install games on the HDD untill 2-3 months before ME2 came out (or at least well within its development cycle) I figured they didn't really have the time to implement it, and between the DLCs and the development of ME3 they did not think it was worth patching it in (if that is even possible, another question people in this thread are asking). But ME3 having the same issue indicates that either it is not possible or they didn't invest any time or effort into it. Thats all people are asking. Was it an oversight or is it not possible alltogether? If its was a time issue its dissapointing since they took time to add Kinnect functionality to it and I guarantee you that far less people are going to use that feature than the install game on HDD and use disk one as authentication and not having to swap discs.
I am not uppset about it. Just a bit dissapointed and maybe hopeful that it can be patched.

Leave Mars, go on a mission, swap discs, finish that mission, start another one, swap discs again...repeat ad nauseum.
