Let people who install the game on the HDD use disc one as authentication on boot up and play the game off the HDD.
Didn't Battlefield 3 do this?

Agreed, Forza does this already

comes with 2 Discs and you only need to install one Disc
and have the second Disc in to play the game

Forza does do that, yeah. But it hasn't been received without a large degree of whining at Turn 10, since when it's done this way, you *have* to install disc 2 or the content isn't available. That can be dealt with when all it means is you don't get that 30th peugeut model in Forza, but would probably be less popular in ME if someone running out of space on a 360 Arcade can't access Mars :-)

Edit: But yeah, haven't gotten to play yet (damn you, work), but anything that can be done to minimize swapping is good. ME2 handled it well.

Both my friend and I have older consoles that now take anywhere from 1 to 30 attempts to read a disk. The machines are obviously in death throws. The games disk swap screen makes the trial and error of disk reading take longer for some reason.Twice the game has crashed to the dashboard during this ritual.

If it turns out that a formula exists for the MINIMUM amount of swaps we would have to perform,we would love to know about it.

Have someone take a look at the lasers in your Xboxs. Sounds like they need to be replaced. If they are that old sending them into MS would be a waste cause it would just cost you alot. Better to have someone who knows what they are doing check out and replace the laser for you if needed.  I had to replace the laser in my XBox, which was definately out of warranty since it was a RROD replacement and its been 2 years since I got it back.

As for the minimum number of swaps... I heard someone made a guide for that.

sounds like a temporal *solution* for us could you mind posting it here ? devs seriosuly need to come up here.. -3- has anyone else sent a pm message to anyone from the bioware crew? stanley, chris etc.

Somehow I feel that IF we get an answer it won't be a very good one. Maybe some beating around the bush...

doesnt matter, i think ill be more *okay* with all this if they atleats come here and give us an answer about this wether is good for us or not. as i said i have hope

Me (as i) ]i was wondering if you could take some of your time and visit this thread on the mass effect 3 forums we would like to have an answer/solution or anything regarding the mass effect 3 disk swapping situation on xbox 360 version perhaps you guys could come up with some future patch or anything to be able to let us play with just 1 disk having both of them installed on the harddrive with some kind of authentication examples : castlevania lord of shadows, battlefield 3, forza. [/color]
if your too kind to read our concerns/ constructive criticism of a few of course cause there are others that are in hate, we would really appreciate your presence in that topic, thank you so much i know you guys are all busy and all but as you may know this swapping situation its somewhat really annoying/frustrating i mean me 2 did a good job in this but me 3 eh..well just come up and look, thank you again.

Stanley Woo Response : While inconvenient and/or excessive and/or unwanted, the disc swapping is working as intended and is not game-breaking.

ive askd to him to show up here i dont know if he will but eh yeah..

this was on a pm that sent to him and that was his response.

I generally install the discs on my hard drive to save wear and tear on my reader. This isn't really an issue I personally have a problem with. The face import and other bugs, now that's where I have an issue....

I have to see a man about a lazer.Quoting posts wont work on my phone so I will just say thanks V.

Any timed side missions in the first few hours?
Do we dare leave them all for disc 2?

Hardware issue, not Bioware's problem.

Besides, I personally think you have to be insanely lazy to complain about disc swapping.

I loved Riven as a game on playstation and it have 5 discs to swap all the time. PC in the 90's had this as well. I never found it an issue then.

Matter of fact, I found it as a good thing. 90% of the time, the games that had disc swapping generally had larger content, had more quality, and had better graphics than the ones without disc swapping.

Don't complain just because Bioware gave you a superb product for your hardware.

At least we don't have to install each act individually, as we get to them. *points to MGS4*

I don't mind disc-swaps so much, even ones as frequent as these, but I hope the next console generation takes full advantage of Blu-Ray, or some kind of equally bigger alternative format.

Foxhound didnt read my posts. There are unforseen problems when using a 3 year old machine.Half of us are only discussing this to find the most efficient path. The other half you can scold if you must :)

Valient, cheers again.Would rather not fail any sidequests.I will let my buddie know too.

would you rather have it be as linear as ME2? Are you too lazy to stand up and swap discs?

It's the immersion breaking that does it for everyone I think. Not the "U TOO LAYZY? LUL" response that we're getting from everyone.

Disk swapping in annoying, especially if you've downloaded the whole game to the HDD - wish MS would allow just the one disk as verification

<_< really...all they have to do is if you install both disc have one for verification. problem solved. Battlefield 3 and Forza already did this and it just makes sense.

Its amazing how these threads keep popping up. Is it THAT hard to swap your disc, so hard that you have to come here and vent your frustration? Trust me there are worse things in life than changing a disc every now and then.

As was mentioned earlier...Really, disc swapping was common for many years. Even when the Xbox 360 came out there was still multi-disc games. Worth noting that ME1 and Blue Dragon came out around the same time and Microsoft forced BioWare to compress ME1 all onto one disc and it hurt the game because of it. Meanwhile Blue Dragon was like...5 discs? I just wished if I installed all the content that I wouldn't need to prove I have disc two hard copy.

Do what I do. Place the case and the Xbox somewhere within arm reach. Works just fine.

Blue Dragon was 3 discs, and once you moved from one disc to the next, in succession, you didn't have to switch back.

In ME3 your switch between discs multiple times.

Why are you here? Why aren't you out there doing all those important things in life instead of ****ing on a forum, about how people shouldn't **** about something? Your high horse called. Its begging for you to get off it.
Maybe you'd prefer we talk about candy and rainbow pooping unicorns instead? I say ME3 can cure cancer. What say ye?

Think it was 3. I switched 99% to the PS3 once it was released, is this a common thing with 360 games like something people should be used to doing?

Yeah! How DARE Bioware make us get up and move a couple of feet, open a game box and insert a disc! It's almost as if they're forcing us to DO stuff!
