Yeah, between BSN and gamefaqs, there have been a small handful of people (maybe three that I've seen?) who have claimed to get 4000+ EMS with no multiplayer.  Highest claim was around 4300.  Nobody ever provided any proof (so far).

They might just be confused.

I went around claiming that I had 3000 just after Tuchanka all day yesterday. Then I double checked and that was actually my total assets, not EMS. :(

EMS or total, and if it's EMS, provide screenshots.

Everybody says how they had over 4000 EMS with just SP, but they never put screenshots online. I just want some kind of proof that it is possible to get EMS above 4000 without ever touching MP (because I refuse to play MP, since I play on the Xbox, not PC or PS3).
Bioware promised us that it was possible, but I have yet to see someone who managed to do that.

I suppose the missing points we need to reach 4k EMS in SP campaign will be provided by future DLC..

The galaxy at war system is ridiculously convoluted and confusing. I've ran through ME1 and ME2 several times and did all the "best" choices and imported my characters. Right now on both male Shep and fem Shep I'm sitting at around 4400 EMS.

I have some pals that I'm going to crank out the multiplayer with, but until then that is my EMS. Also, to get the "secret" ending all you have to do is import a Shep from ME3 (NG+) and have your fish imported from ME2 (I know, stupid as hell.) After that, and having an EMS of at least 6000+ you have a chance at getting the secret ending.

I feel entitled to a non suckish ending just for playing NG+ to hell with the fish.

Many individuals are unable to exceed 3500 EMS and would be curious as to how you have accomplished such a value.

If it's true, I think it's a poor design decision on BioWare's part and they should have been upfront about it. Of course, I am still holding out on 8,000 war assets being available in the game.

There aren't.

As the poster who provided some research pointed out - and I confirmed checking the link - there may be a couple hundred points to spare here and there based on imports (I personally missed out on -210 from ME1-2, but overall had a net gain all things considered) and I think I missed 2-3 sidequests, but the highest EMS total I've heard reported without any multiplayer at all is 3900.

the prima guide messed everything up and they didnt put in any of the other endings

Which means Shepard living is possibly the NG+ ending?  But then the Prima guide mentions the NG+ ending independently of the EMS listing.  Hm.

Grinding MP, grinding MP a lot. And you can get 4500 in just SP alone if you make all the right choices.

You can't get over 4500 EMS without MP, it's just impossible.

But how did you get 4500 from just the SP. From what I have been seeing people can't hit that number, thats what they are asking.

You have to do things in a VERY specific way, I mean pinpoint here. You have to have done all missions in ME1, all missions in ME2, re-write the Geth, don't give Tali's evidence to the enclave, support Korris during ME2 (Quarian ambassador who opposes the war,) shoot Udina on side, make sure Kaiden/Ash doesn't die, save both the Geth and Quarians, cure the Krogan and do everything else in ME3.

Wow lol. I will not be hitting 4500 from the SP alone then. Do you happen to know how much EMS you get from the MP in total? I plan on bringing the readiness to 100% before I finish the SP, I do want the ending where Shepard survives.

If you max out everything in MP, and keep promiting charaters, then youe total assets go up to 100%. So if you have say, 5000 total, it will be 5000.

You get 75 assets from each class you promote, but the real benefit is you can get your readiness up to 100, which means you suffer no 'penalties' from total assets to EMS. So, like, I had about 7130 war assets by the end of the game. With no multiplayer, I would only have had 50 readiness, so...whatever half of that is (I have a headache). With my multiplayer, I got readiness to 100 percent, so the EMS was that 7130.

Ok thanks for the info. I'm going to do that then since I think I'm sitting around 3000ish EMS right now. Getting the readiness to 100% should bring me up to the EMS needed for the "perfect" ending.

As long as you have 5500 EMS you are good to go. If you have 100% though, you pretty much just steamroll the Reapers. It's not even funny.

Also, just FYI, your readiness is linked to your online profile, so no matter if you start a new SP character, or play on another system, your readiness will transfer. It does decay slowly, though, but once you cap it out if you play like 1 MP a day you can offset it.

Very good info, thanks again. Its nice to know it transfers because I still have 3 more characters I need to import for a play through. Then I plan on doing a NG+ with my first play through character.

Is there somewhat of a guide out there that pinpoints the requirements? I have read through the ME WIki on War Assets. It has some good information but it's hard to do the math. For example, you don't save the Ascension and you get a full 90 assets for every Alliance fleet you have. Well how much does the Ascension give you? It's only 90 for the Ascension. So you have to do that math at how much extra points you will have and it seems that you must let the council die to get the most points in this scenario. Other than that, I have scoured Google and have not been able to find anything.

Edit: Also to add something I haven't seen mentioned in here yet. If you destroy the Collector Base, you get the reapers heart as opposed to it's brain. It's best to do this for an "alive" Shepard ME3 ending as it gives you an Effective Military Asset bonus for the "Destroy the Reapers" option.

I have read a report that "ship models" and fish are considered war assets in a New Game+. This seems unlikely to me, though I am wondering if anyone else is in a position to quickly test such a claim.

i can attest to this the fish is  not its something more its gives you a personal bonus i wont say why but the fish is good thing to have and the model ships are nothing i have my whole room filled with every model ever and i can say without no doubt they are not

i am currently running a new game with everything and so far its is good to have but the fish and its secret is not really that big that  but  it does give you something and the story on it is funny.

the only reason i can think that ng+ will do is open the last renegade/paragon option i couldn't get the very last one it was grey but i got everyone before it so the very last option might unlock it with the added rep that you need i am on the next game with a bar nearly capped and it keeps adding more and more to it on the paragon rep, also i didn't do mp when i played my first game and i have over 7k in war assets this time i have 100% gr and and 1000+ war assets thats alrady capped near the min line i want to see if i missed anything and see if the extra rep works on tim in the end

The stipulations on this question are probably different than your situation.

They are talking about "Effective Military Assets" with 50% readiness. Not total and not more than 50%. If there is a max of 10,000 total military assets, it's impossible to the effective military assets over 5,000.

I did everything in the game and ended up short.

Bioware lied, you pretty much have to do multiplayer. Either that or they did a horrible job of putting the game together.

Noob question, if you don't mind. What do you mean by promoting a class? Do you mean levelling up unlocked multiplayer characters?
