With just over 24 hours to go before the Digital Distributors release the game, and probably right around 24 hours for people buying hard-copies, I find myself strangely energized this morning.

For reference, it's about 8:15 at the time I'm typing this sentence.  It's rare if I'm up before 10AM local time.

So, I wanna know what everyone's doing in preparation for the game, as well as your first playthrough's, what/who your character will be, basically, a giant compilation of the bazillion threads that have already been made on these forums...  Just in one handy place for everyone who cares or wants to troll it to come to.  ^_^

My prep consists of being up super-early today.  I have to be up about 7:45 my time tomorrow because I'm getting my Wisdom Teeth removed, and I can't eat for 6 hours before I go in, so I need time to eat a hardy breakfast so I don't starve whilst I'm having my work done.  I've also stocked up on incredulous amounts of soda in two different varieties, as well as about 5 bags of Dorito's, two bags of Frosted Animal Crackers, a couple beers, and some standard Hygeine stuff.  I've also been cruising around the Stardock forums to see if anyone there has addressed the 'Time Issue.'  The Digital Download is set to go live at 10AM PDT...  Which is 9AM PST, since we all just set our clocks back.  I dunno if this is just an over-sight or if it was intended to be this way, but I haven't gotten a definitive answer yet as to if this is the case.  If it is, I'll start DL'ing at 10AM my time, 11 if not.  I wanna know because, obviously, the sooner the better!  :lol:

For my first playthrough, I'm a little torn.  I want to do a Mage first, since Magi are my least favorite Archetype to play, but I have a Dwarf Commoner I'm really enamored with, and would also like to play first.  If it comes time to play, and I can't decide one way or the other, I'm just gonna have to flip a coin or something...

Both of my First Playthrough choices are females.  The Mage is going to be a supremely evil girl, who cares nothing for the people around her barring what they can do to further her agenda.  I'm planning on building her in the 'Liche-style,' with all the ice-spells from the elemental tree, Spirit Spells, dunno all of which I'll get or not yet, and if there's room after Specializations, the Hex line.  I'm thinking Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage for her Spec's, to make the character slightly more tolerable for me.

My Dwarf Commoner is also a bit of a Frosty one, but unlike the Mage, she's not inherently Evil.  Given everything that's happened to her though, she cares little for the world around her, and just does what she has to to survive, be it stealing, killing, or what-have you.  There is room for her to change and become a good person, but there's also room for her to completely fall, if she decideds the world is, in it's entirety, cruel enough to warrant her wrath.
She's a Warrior that I'll be going Dual-Wielding with, and will definitely take Berserker with.  If she goes 'Good,' then Champion for a second spec, Reaver if she's 'Evil.'  If she somehow ends up remaining on the fence, she'll be a dedicated Berserker, and I might end up taking some of the 2-Handed Talents as a secondary mode of attack for her in that case.

MAKER I'm so excited for DA:O!!!!!  :lol::lol::lol:

I'm getting mine out later this year, I hope getting yours out doesn't hinder your efforts to enjoy the game.

EA has broken street date for those who pre-ordered. My CE will get here while I am at work today.

I've made it clear that if my roomates bust it open and install it, I'll kill them barehanded :P

:P  Can ya blame me?  ....That's a silly question, of course you can't.  :lol:

I've already got all my characters made for each Origin, but I only know how I'm playing half of them.  Mage and Dwarf Commoner I've described.  The third character I've got fleshed out is pretty easy.  He's my "Fantasy Interpretation of Myself" character.  (See my Profile Picture on the left here.  ^^)
As such, he's gonna be a goody-two-shoes pretty much, unless this game allows me to show off exactly how twisted my sense of Right and Wrong is.  (At least, compared to what most people consider 'Normal.'  I expect a lot of people on the DA forums are actually pretty progressive in their thinking, probably more-so than I am.)  He'll be pretty eccentric, given the possibility of course, and will be the type that throws himself in front of a fireball to save a good ally.

He'll (I'll) be a Something-and-Shield Warrior, and will be taking Champion as my first Spec.  Depending on how I think I'd react to the in-game events, his second will depend on the same kind of circumstances as my Dwarf Commoner.  If he stays on the fence, maintains, more or less, exactly who he is, he'll be a dedicated Champion.  If he gets too Jaded and starts trippin' out about the state of things though, he'll fall Evil, his sense of Right and Wrong will become REALLY twisted, and he'll take Reaver.  If there's sufficient reason in-game for it, he'll take Templar instead, though I tend to doubt it...  I don't much care for Templar for this character.  (Yes, I realize that's a little counter-intuitive, especially in the event that he DOES take a fireball for an ally, as Templar would help with that, but I never said that I wasn't stupid.  :P)
