  hey guys, im getting this same report with origin when i try to install mass effect 3
directx setup error an internal error occurred

ive been looking forward to this game for a long time, help would be greatly appreciated

Try running dxdiag and see if it needs an update.

I had the same problem, merely restarting the installation worked for me. See to it that you've closed all DirectX related applications, though, such as other games, media players, Fraps and similar stuff.

Everybody hates Origin. I haven't been able to play BF3 or ME3 on this system with W7 because of it.

You're not alone. ME3 was my last EA purchase for any game that uses ORIGIN.

I guess I've been lucky, I haven't had any issues yet with Origin.

As far as the directx error, that definitely sounds like you need to update your directx. I'd suggest going to mircrosoft's directx website and install the latest version.

Origin also causes severe framerate drops when accessing the powers menu (shift). When I launch the game without origin it doesn't have ANY ISSUES and performs flawlessly. When I play with origin it does this all the time. I have already disabled origin in the game (in the settings) but it hasn't improved the performance of my game.

@Gorthor I don't hate Origin. I have been on Steam for over 8 years and prefer it though. But Origin is not to bad for being new or in Beta. I had zero problems with install, DLC and playing ME3. Guess I am lucky though.
