I have said this before but if people want to prove that it is cut content why don't they data mine the actual DLC and look at the files inside?

Do you even have any idea how the files in the article are used? Grow up.

Yes I do, but do you see anything else in there related to another unannounced dlc? no. at least not discovered yet so don't give me that crap that you THINK this had to be included.  It could have been left off disc just like the other 586mb... :pinched:

The game has only just been released. It isn't even out in the UK yet. As a community, we haven't built up a compendium if references which we can look to for suspicious file names.

Arrival was only.referenced in the PS3 version of ME2, every other DLC that was released was referenced in some way to the files on ME2 360's discs. And all of those were developed after the game's completion. Equally, they weren't all found at the same time.
Only planned DLC have references, for conceptual, integration and experimental purposes.

Arrival was something they thought up during PS3. It's possible that developing ME3 has been so overwhelming that they haven't had the resources to consider any other DLC until completion of the game. And this is where Prothy is first priority.

Destructoid asked for comment and someone from EA said "We've already commented on this". So basically they've ignored it.

Ok, so 3 possibilities:

1. Voice over was recorded long time aggo.
2. Some of the files/data on disk is actually deprecated/junk (Prothy is not wielding a shotgun for instance, yet one of the image says otherwhise...
3. Part of the DLC was developped by a second team in parrallel during part of the development of the main game (makes sense with itterative development to parallellize development of modules).

all and all, this is not like Capcom's stupidity in SFvTeken(Aka: including the full content of all the dlcs on the disk). The DLC is not completely present in the disk. Part of it(developped before the data was sent to certification) was probably done.

Now... please go an enjoy the game instead of trying to create a tornado in a teapot.

It's not VA; there is no actual dialogue from Eden Prime on there per se. It's just banter - party chat.

The whole DLC is available on the disk. How I know that? People have been pirating the game a lot in one of the forums I'm reading. They have the DLC too. I guess it's just encrypted, so someone decrypted it. You don't need to download anything.

two words......

Electronic Arts

"[BioWare] completed the game in January & moved onto the 'From Ashes' DLC... It takes about 3 months from 'content complete' to bug-fix, certify, manufacture, and ship game discs. In that time we work on DLC."
- Casey Hudson, Executive Producer

"The content in 'From Ashes' was developed by a separate team (after the core game was finished) and not completed until well after the main game went into certification."
- Michael Gamble, Producer

Those look like Bioware employees to me.

Yes, and they were correct. The DLC was completed before the game went gold, but it was developed by another team.

Worthless thread, case closed.

If you paid attention to what Bioware actually said it's been known for a long time that the character and dialogue to blend it seamlessly into the main game was developed at the same time as the main game. The DLC level on Eden Prime is what was developed after the main game was finished.

Which only means they purposely stopped adding the content to the game so they can charge you on the day of release for content they were already developing that was stripped out to turn a $60 game into a $70 game.

You wouldn't buy a painting if the artist cut a piece of it out and then tried to sell it to you it seperately. Why people think it is okay with a videogame is beyond me. It is explotation, plain and simple no matter who does it.

The point is, the DLC is on the disk, which means it was developed before the game went gold. Which means BioWare lied, not that I've ever believed them. ;)

Depends on the type of DLC. If we get more DLC like the Zaeed one I'd happily check it out.

What exactly would there be to say?

Bioware: Yes, we created this content to be dlc. Although we originally planned for it to be included in CE copies only, we decided it would be more profitable to sell it to everyone.

BSN: WE KNEW IT!!!! HOW DARE YOU MAKE MONEY WITH YOUR OWN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY!!!!!! I DEMAND THIS CONTENT!!!!!
WHO AM I? I"M THAT GUYS THAT SAYS YOUR GAME SUCKS AND YET INEXPLICABLY WANTS EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF
UNIMPORTANTS EXTRA CONTENT!!!! BUT I WANT IT FOR FREE!!!! BECAUSE YOUR GAME SUCKS YOU SEE AND EA IS THE
DEVIL!!!!!

This is Bioware's intellectual property. That means they can decide what to include in the original disc and what is extra. We as adults are capable of making the rational decision to buy it or not. It doesn't matter that it's on the disk. All that matters is what Bioware decided to do with their game.

There is literally nothing that needs to be said.

I care less about it being on the disc than what they deem an appropriate price for their micro DLC.
