No need to jump to conclusions. Of course the whole DLC business is nickel-and-diming, now openly done, but that doesn't mean there's a conspiracy behind it all just because some guy says so.

Seriously the DLC business is bad enough as-is without trying to paint Bioware as liars like this. As even the blog author states, it's all "speculation."

Of course there is no conspiracy. They are just liers that is no conspiracy.

How can they be liers when they told us all about it months ago? Don't you have to lie to be a lier?;)

Doesn't matter what they said months ago lie is still a lie. I am talking just about the statment they release to dement speculations after From Ashes leaked on Xbox.

It is probably just part of the content you are paying for rest is on the disc since it is much smaller than other DLCs for ME2.

Spot on. Bioware has never, as far as I can tell, told an outright lie, they just like to "economize with the truth" sometimes. For instance, the DLC may very well have been finished after the game itself, what would explain the 500 MB download from Origin, and it was probably done by a different team. However, work on the DLC could have began as early as a year ago (considering the "Prothean adventure" leak). I don't remember them either confirming or denying this.

Unfortunately, I think it's the cumulative effect that's taking its toll on some of the fans: the leak that there might be a Prothean squadmate with the CE; the audio files found on the demo; Xbox Live's "From Ashes" slip; and then Bioware being forced to hastily address the issue. Not to mention other details regarding game content (but that would be spoilers!).

I admit, however, that Bioware should have predicted and handled fan reaction/passions better than it has so far. It astounds me that they didn't realise all of this would happen beforehand but, then again, maybe they did and didn't care, or maybe they didn't count on the unrelenting stream of leaks and slips (though that would be a bit naïve).

In short, it comes down to a single question: who do you want to believe? Things like this, when not properly addressed, only serve to erode further confidence on Bioware, I'm afraid.:(

TBH I don't care when it was finished, or how much was or wasn't on the disc - the fact that it was announced as a CE Bonus, means that it was always going to be ready prior to Day 1 (that I had to download over 500M indicates to me not all of it was on the disc). That owners of the SE are now complaining because it was made available to them on Day 1 at a price is just farcical (personally if I was in that position, I'd be happy I could get it immediately, rather than having to wait weeks/months for it to become available). I'm sorry but expecting something for nothing because you didn't buy the edition that it came free, or because a previous game had free stuff, or because the sky is blue for that matter is just naive.

In the end the content belongs to BW/EA and they have the right to either give away, or sell that content in any manner they please - just as we as consumers have the right to refuse to buy that content if we so desire. It's not like the content (or the game itself for that matter) is essential to own - the universe won't really end if you don't own/play ME3 & all of it's available content, and nobody is forcing you to buy it.

The Eden Prime mission.

Something that people forget to mention: you only unlock the character as a squad mate but you don't get access to the extra content.

Yes, I saw it also.  Bump.

I'd also be interested to see if the dialog works.

I bought my N7 Collector edition without hesitating, despite what everyone else has to say about it. I coughed up the extra $20 not only for the extra content and physical items but as well as for the DLC.

I'm tired of hearing people act like we're all getting ripped off for not having the day one DLC for free. People are complaining that they have to pay $10 for the DLC and act like the N7 buyers just get it for free, but guess what? I forked out my $10 for the DLC when I bought the N7 edition of the game. The other $10 paid for the other swag included.

We are not entitled to get the content for free. Stop complaining.

I actually made a thread about this earlier, but it got deleted. It's like censorship, really because it's happenned to others as well, not that you'd hear of it here.

Seriously Bioware, deleting threads/posts isn't only going to make you lose support. Also a video on how to unlock the character:

Sometimes I feel like it's ME in real life, with EA being the Reapers, Bioware being the ones indoctrinated and the galaxy being the game, with the playerbase being the races.

And also it isn't just about the fact that we have to pay for the DLC, it's because the character was implemented in the game's code and thus couldn't have been developed seperately.

Why do publishers and developers think gamers are idiots? Why does everyone hate on Bioware and EA? Why are companies like Valve, CD Projekt, Bethesda praised? Perhaps they should evaluate and answer this question. Perhaps it's the shoddy business practices and business models, perhaps it's how gamers perceive the industry, perhaps even maybe it's how games in todays industry doesn't show true gaming passion. Everyone needs to get a hard look at everything and see what works best for everyone.

Just gonna say something, companies like Valve (I'm unsure on the others) tend to get involved with the community and pay attention to what they want, and their DLC is usually free and is applied in updates. Plus they don't ignore people/try to censor or lie about stuff like EA tends to do.

Bioware/EA stated no DLC was on the disk.  That they would 'never' do such a thing.  A significant portion of the DLC is, in fact, on the disk.  Are you saying it is unreasonable to call them out on this?  If yes, please adjust your head slightly, the boot of EA requires a more comfortable perching atop your fat face.

I own a legally obtained disk.  On that disk is a squadmember.  Would it be illegal for me to use that squadmember?

probably deleted as it shows how to exploit or change content in some way and such thats why i didnt link.
because if people want to find it would be easy to find.

anyway there isnt a way to confirm it as the dlc could have been installed between showing the files and playing it.

If the entire DLC was on the disc then 1.9 Gigs of files would not have had to have been downloaded from Xbox live. The voice acting was complete, sure, doesn't mean all the files are there. Stop over reacting. The DLC is still awesome and worth the ten bucks.

Perhaps you are to quick to defend? If tomorrow brings the revelation that EA annually sacrifices kittens to the goddess Bastet, I do not doubt for a moment the same faces will be lining up here to argue the practice improves the quality of EA titles.
