I dont know if it says so in the fiction, but I was curious as to how the armor is aware of what weapon to deploy. I was thinking possibly a neural link with shepard through synapse or something like that.

How is that vague? I simply wanted to know how, Shepard wants a weapon, the weapon chosen starts to "deploy" or decompress from it's small form factor.
