I cannot travel anywhere other than the 2 dlc places after I have beaten the final story quest.
Can you not keep playing after you beat the game?

Does seem strange you cannot continue, it would be interesting to see the effects you had on the game.
Much better than an ending infact.

It does work quite well the way the game just ends, then hopefully when an expansion is realeased you can continue with the character you had. Maybe the way you finished the game will be the new origin?

i guess will just have to load up an older save to be able to do custom quest mods from modders and future DLC.
maybe a future dlc will let you play after game ends like with fallout

Yeah, I was really dissappointed to find out that the epilogue save is treated as happening before the final parts of the game.
Of course, on the other hand I suppose it would be a bit problematic to have all of the dlc content account for how things would be pending on how your playthrough affected the events in the game.

You don't have to do that. You can use your epilogue save to do the dlc and mods people will make. Problem is regardless what's made it will all be treated as taking place before the final events of the original game - at least anything Bioware comes up with until they come out with either an expansion or sequel.

Maybe I'm of a different generation, but outside of Bethesda games, I can't think of any game which allows you to finish up sidequests after the game is done.

A good story must have a beginning, a middle, and an end.

I can think of one game that lets you play after you beat it
The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion + Shivering Isles
Sorry about the resurrection. Pissed at the games ending and wish there was a "glitch" to pass it up on the PS3 :\\ I FINALLY beat the game. Jeez :\\

Why, exactly, would you want to keep playing after finishing the game?

Mods? Maybe rearranging the order you do side quests, see how things are faring etc.
Would have loved the ability to just keep messing about, modding and just getting more game time.
