For Constantly saying that this is a Tactical Strategy game You kinda dropped the ball

There are some inherent problems with RPGs in general that Dragon Age:
Origins does little to address. Enemies feature little in the way of
tactics. In fact, they just charge at you and that's about it.
Obviously defence-favouring foes will keep their distance and that
requires tactics too, but pure dice-based role playing almost always
feels like the tabletop game that the art department is trying to
convince you it's not.
Final review was an 8.4

That is one mans (a man who apparently wishes this was Mass Effect 2) opinion and i'm sure come tommorow a lot of people will disagree.

It sounded more like he wanted a BG3 and Fanboys will always disagree

I believe that review was for the Xbox 360 version of the game. If it was, then that supports what the developers have already told us. I think if you play the PC version you'll have to deal with more strategy based encounters.

Also, he played the console version which has a smaller limit of enemies on screen. If there are 5 enemies you usually have less to keep track on than if there are 10.
But I have not played it yet, so I might be dead wrong. Remember another reviewer mentioning that enemies don't just rush at you though.

there's no tactics. it works exactly the same as NWN. enemies charge at you and combat is basically a confused mess with dice rolls. compare this to combat from say Jagged Alliance 2 or whatever and you see instantly that one is superior and the other vastly inferior

Tactics are used to win battles no matter how stupid the enemies are. When you position your characters to avoid AOE spells, when you place traps, when using the right spells at the right time etc.
And no it doesn't work like NWN it works like Baldur's Gate. Jagged Alliance 2 is a game which completely focuses on combat. Of course they can make the combat more complex.

The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions have dumber AI due to system limitations. The consoles couldn't support having too many things on the screen at once in order to balance difficulty with the PC they made the mobs come attack you in waves instead of requiring you to zoom out(which console can't do) and play strategically around enemy positions.

LOL resorted to attacking the consouls have we?
Sorry but you're just plain wrong they could of handled it just fine and if you need proof look no further than Uncharted 2.

Guys, they didnt dumb the AI down on the consoles, just the number of enemies. And its not like youre only facing 3 or 4 enemies on the console, ive already seen gameplay with at least 10 enemies at a time.
Well reguardless if they did that than shame on them.
If Uncharted 2 can have a helicopter firing at you, bad guys firing at you all while the building you're in is literally collapsing than there was no need.

To bad the reviewer didnt make his dice rolls and scored Critical misses. (rolling a 1). When black isle closed, interplay took over publishing. Game wasnt ended cuz of them closing, but because the story was finished. and then he makes a nother critical error regarding D&D text roleplay and he makes atleast a nother 2-3. he was a bad reviewer for this game.

Not the same at all, and Uncharted 2 never had more than 6-8 enemies at once, and the heli is prescripted (or whatever the technical term is)
Oh and i just remembered a dev post that said he saw the PS3 version running with 16 enemies on screen, and he wasnt even sure it was the maximum number. So again, its not like the console versions only have 5 enemies at a time.

You have an interesting viewpoint, but you need to back it up with evidence and rational.

You spot some Darkspawn ahead and send your sword/shield and two-handed weapon fighters forward to kill them. Unfortunately, they trigger a trap that slows them down. Meanwhile, a larger number of Darkspawn rush past your fighters to attack your mage and archer rogue, while enemy ranged troops and spellcasters target your stranded warriors.
Does that sound like funto you?
