As a huge ME fan i was extremely hyped for ME3.
I was very happy because my pc copy arrived today.Too bad i can't play the game because of this freaking origin.
Alright so i insert the disc, click install. It installs origin first and then i proceed into activating my game through the "redeem code" option. The serial was accepted and ME3 appeared on my library.Unfortunately origin doesn't install it from the disc(the game is in there i checked).Intead it has to dowanload it first.
Now i wonder why the hell do i have to download a retail game?(witch i paid 50 euros for)
Seriously if i had pirated it,i would be playing by now.Instead i have to waste my valuable time googling for a solution.
sigh.....
proofthat i own the game:Image IPB

Try opening the tab (next to the complete thing) as that is actually how it looks when it copies from the dvd too.

Well what I did was the following;
- Inserted the cd while origin was opened.
- Activated the game with the cod
- Once done I ran the autorun from the cd and it showed the same screen you see. When I clicked on the details tab it showed in the upper right "copying from disc) the speed varied a bit though for some weird reason.

If that doesn't work i suggest this:

uninstall origin
download and reinstall it from the origin website.
reboot
start up origin.
insert disc and and it should install.

thats what i had to do.

Nothing works.I click on the setup.exe, run it as an admin and it just takes me to the activation screen and asks me for the serial(witch i've already used)
Is there any way to extract the files from the disk myself?
Winrar doesn't seem to open .zo1 files.

No it doesn't.I even took out the disk and the download kept going. Not to mention that it needs like 4 hours or more to download.

After something like 3 hours,i found a solution.I found a way to extract the files from the disks and now the game is installed.
EDIT:Scratch that. There's also a release date check on top of all that?Time to go to the tpb.

Care to explain what you did in a little more detail? I'm so tired of this issue.

It's simple i copied disk 1 and 2 on my hdd. Then i opened the zip file on disk 2 and extracted it,during the extraction it asks for a file from disk 1(the one with the .zo1 extension). After that it aks for the zip file again.

I thought the same... no solution for my 'origins no longer working' bug. Sad :-(

Solved the issue by installing my current installation of Origin then installing it from the DVD's, if there was any pre-installed version of Origin for whatever reason it will not start the installation from the Discs it seems. Doing this also wont uninstall your other Origin games, just the client itself.

Have tried all the tips and tricks posted so far but I've still not been succsesfull installing the game from the retail dvd's. . . I can only choos to download the game wich I don't wanna do cuz of slov interet connection @ my current location. .
have been browsing the web and it seems like this it a verry common issue and it's Unacceptable! this proves that it's time to shut down Origin(should really never have existed) once and for all!

Had to do this with BF3. Works better if you have a second drive to put the install files on.

Coppied all the files from disc 1 to a folder, copied all the files from disc 2 to the same folder.

Opened the zip file. Since the second part of the zip was already in the folder it didn't have a problem.

Extracted the contents to another folder and ran the setup from there. The initial BF3 install was doing about 1.2MB/s (which was actually coming from the internet not my dvd drive). Running the install as above was clocked in around 40MB/s and faster. Took a little time to copy and extract but far less time had I waited for Origin to DL the game.
