Here is what you do.
Finish the game then go watch the ending of The Return of the King.
Awesome ending with nicer graphics.

...and then the ending is just a few lines of dialogue in a big room with a few NPCs and your party members all standing around.
And that's it.
After my first play-through I almost couldn't believe it. Oh well.

Really? I sort of see what you're saying but next time you get to the ending, read whats on those cards, and try to imagine how long a quick video would have to be to portray what the card tells you in a way that isn't contrived or stupid - now think about the number of possible endings - you're talking about what might get to an hour or more of video. The cards are fine. Deal with it?
With all the dialog and acting i was expecting an hour movie at the end not 2 min of reading.

You realize how useless it is to post that in the NO SPOILERS ALLOWED part of the forum?

What did we spoil that the ending sucks? Regardless of your choices.

Thats what happens in the end of every JRPG, massive cinematics that take atleast 30 minutes. I suppose this approach was chosen for Dragon Age since there are so many different endings. Then again, didn't Mass Effect and NWN (the two latest BioWare games i've played

At least people who have not finished the game will see the title of the topic and skip it.
Are the people posting spoilers in this part of the forum pirates or can't they read properly?
@Guardian66: if you seriously mean that posting about the ending of a game here is not a spoiler then rest my case.

Reading is too hard or what? It is a game, after all. I certainly prefer the team focusing on making a good game (which they did) instead of making a totally needless 1 hr movie (which is what you seem to want).

Reading is certainly too hard for people who can't read "NO SPOILERS ALLOWED" in capital letters.

I liked the ending, and realize that time constraints kept them from being more thorough. The journey leading up to that point was worth it though.

you would think with all the dialog there would have been cut scenes for each character at the end not some cheasy index card.
Yeah, I have to say I thought that was incredibly lame as well.
Considering the amount of detail put into the rest of the game and the level of depth put into character interactions, it was rather disappointing to have it boil down to a Power Point presentation far as what happened afterwards.

Think back to KOTOR, they had several cut-scenes and a final cut-scene (all of which depended on choices/alignment). There were maybe 3 or 4 different versions IIR.
Overall it was relatively short, but well done, a nice story-bookend, and was completely fulfilling.
You weren't reading title cards over static images.

It was good enough for Fallout 1 & 2. One of my favourite parts was the end in fact, I love knowing how my actions affected everyone in the future.guardian66 wrote...
