It seems like the most controversial point for ME3 is surprisingly not the MP but the endings for the game. So my question is whether Bioware should pull a Bethesda and release a happy ending despite the possible ramifications in doing so?

Please keep it polite and respectful! :)

Results of this poll will be sent to key designers and hopefully Priestly will inform the team of the demands in future DLC!
Whether it impacts or not is up to them, fans were wrong about the horrors of MP and the "dumbing down" of ME3, so we know Bioware would listen if enough fans (and their cash) voice their opinions!

Personally (as most will know), I felt the ending were fine but I honestly want to guage the fan reaction over the ending and also test whether Bioware will listen if fan response is overwhelming. =]

Whoo-whee, the response is coming hot and thick and I just posted this a few seconds ago!

Forgot to add but can some of you that voted for the first option, explain how you would like it to end?

Martyr created one a few days ago that is really far ahead in votes so you may want to vote there too.

I'm not asking for a Disney ending. I'd just like one ending where the relays arn't destroyed, you know, so galactic civilization isn't totally crippled if not made impossible; and at least have one ending where you can save your crewmates on the Normandy instead of having them get marooned in the middle of nowhere every single time.

I just want to be able to go to sleep at night without thinking about Garrus or Tali starving to death because that planet may or may not have dextro-amino food...

It's the Deus Ex Machina feel of it all that really gets me. I feel like every other decision I made, every aspect of my choices from ME1 all the way up to the end of ME3 were completely pointless, because in the end all I had to do was select whether I liked Red, Blue or Green the most.

It went from being a choose your own adventure to being "Choose your own distractions on the way to the incoherent, unsatisfying conclusion!"
Even if the ending remains so bitterly disappointing I'd at least like some sort of epilogue to explain the end results of what I did.

I know but the poll was more or less, do you think the endings suck or not?

I voted but I want to also guage a more present, accurate response especially as fans are coming fresh off the game rather than just based on what was read on the leaks. :)

Do you know if he has sent it to Priestly etc?

Two overwhelming polls can do better than one. ;)

Well, the voting so far seems fairly conclusive.

Let me say this that the game is absolutley fantastic! Combat is nice and fluid! It's nice to see the emotional attachment between the characters! The only downside I have are the endings-that's it! If we get DLC for it then it would make so many people happy (including myself)! Don't let us down BioWare

Oh it is!

I'm actually curious what most of us thought about the game itself (with disregards to the ending)

*Note for future polls*

I can see how many people will jump to the conclusion that because the endings sucked (which I disagree), everything sucked.

I personally thought ME3 was on par with ME2 if not even moreso despite ME2 having the superior ending. :P

Yeah I can definatley see some replay value in it if different endings are brought through DLC. Oh and soundtrack is amazing as well :D

Possible problem is the backlash.

Bioware already got crap about Day 1 DLC. Imagine the damage if it starts offering "best endings" for the price of $10.

I honestly think they should stick to their guns but that is just me.

KEEP VOTING GUYS. Despite my opinions on the matter, I want Bioware to understand and (at the very least)  respond to this reaction.

Well if that is your opinion you may be inclined to link both in the OP so that people can vote in both of them and let our voices be heard. :D

Yes please. I don't care for a sappy nonsense ending but ,seriously bw, this is the ending you chose? Why?!?!?!? I get it if I gotta die. But what the hell was that hot mess about?

This. Exactly this. I just completed the game, and right up to the end I absolutely loved it, but now I just feel - meh. No matter what choice I made (and yes, I reloaded to see if anything different happened. It didn't) it's just like every single decision I made over the course of the last two games had, ultimately, no effect, because the Normandy still ends up stranded somewhere random (why?! What's up with that?) no matter where Shepard is, and that's it. We don't even find out who on the crew lived or died, apart from Joker and EDI - would be nice, since we've spent years getting attached to these characters, to find out what actually happened to them.

I never expected a Disney "everyone walks off into the sunset" ending, but I didn't expect to be quite so disappointed with what we have.

I can accept a pyrrhic victory for shep even though I never like such thing, but the treatment of normandy is unreasonable

I loved the game...every action packed, heart-wrenching, adrenaline inducing moment on the way to take Earth back.  The working with the characters from the first and second games, the epic scale and impossible things Shepard pulled off along the way, the way the characters moved around the ship and went to the Citadel and how that gave things a more organic feeling, the rekindling the romance with Ashley and thinking that after all this time they finally get to be with each other for good.

And then the end happened.  He managed to live, she's on a planet who knows where because the Normandy just happened to be making a jump at the time?  A DLC that changes that, so they're actually still on Earth because there is no reason they should be making that jump, is the only DLC I will accept.

And I don't have any desire to play this game that I love, because of the ending.  That has *never* happened to me before.  Let me be clear on that...no matter how heart breaking the end, or bleak, or nonsensical, if I enjoyed the rest of the game I look forward to playing it again...except here.  I don't feel excited thinking about playing, I just feel kinda empty.

Nobody expected this endings from Bioware. Mass effect now seems like a waste of time.

I don't think a DLC could "correct" their mistakes or even if they are willing to do it just to make the fans happy. The only thing I know is that I will stay away from Bioware for the next years and I will sell my Mass Effect series because there's no point in replaying it.

I thought it was the best game in the series save for the ending.  I even felt the ending was okay, right up until I made my choice.  Now the ending is a hideous scar on a otherwise flawless face.

I doubt a poll like this could be representative, and even less meaningful. At this point, anyone satisfied, or simply not wanting to rage about the endings wouldn't even open a thread that has "ending" in its title.

Believe it or not, I would like some semblence of balance here and there.

I disagree but I'm willing to work to give the dissent a voice.

Either way, keep up with the votes!  ;)

Give me an ending where Shepard and his remaining squad are shown rebuilding the galaxy with what's left. Don't kill all the species off... maaaaybe, decimate them a bit, but make it so I have a little more hope and satisfaction in my heart.

P.S- Don't forget to include my L.I.

THANKS. Here's +$10
