While exploring the Citadel, I've encountered numerous instances of this asset bonus, yet when I return to the SR2 to check it, nothing by that name is shown in the War Assets menu.

On completing each encounter, it appears that nothing's wrong. It even grants the appropriate Reputation bump for each..

It could be possible that it is crediting it the point values, but simply not updating the menu.  Not certain, but something really seems wrong here.

Then there's the part where the Citadel Docking: Holding Area wouldn't appear at all for the first several hours I was there(That was great, btw...On the first arrival there, only the Hospital, D24 Docking, and Embassies were available. At first I thought that was normal, now I'm not so sure. -_-)...which I kindof suspect might have had something to do with it and possibly another bug/glitch I responded to here.

Have you done any side quests or tried to do more of the main quest before returning to the citadel? If not, I suggest trying to do one or the other first. Because after some side quests you'll get emails from various people to ask you to meet them in other parts of the citadel and that's when they get unlocked.

I assume you're talking about the unavailable sections bit? Assuming that, I'd grant that it's plausible, but after accessing all areas then loading back to saves in which I previously could not, showed that I now could.

And I'm still uncertain if any of it would have an actual effect on the display of Citadel Defence Force asset points in the appropriate menu.

I'm having the same problem. I keep getting messages that the war asset "Citadel Defense Force" has been updated, but it never appears on the War Assets panel (and the numbers stay the same for the rest). For example, this happens in the Docks when I support either the refugee or the person working there, and when I give Spectre authorisation for the duty pay to spouses and family... = "War Asset Updated", but nothing is different when I check the War panel.

I've only just finished the Palaven mission, and have returned to the Citadel to talk to Kaidan and others who have contacted me. Should I do something else first? Complete more "main quests" maybe?

I..couldn't really be sure either. Just my preference though; I probably would rather do available side-quests first rather than the primaries in order to test it.. Especially since I believe after some of the main quests are completed, some encounters and side-quests become unavailable as a matter of course.

Eventually though unless a patch is somehow produced before then, I may have to just proceed along the mains as well. /:>

I'm wondering if it's because the asset is always "Updated" -- I don't remember it ever being "Acquired" like the rest.

Yeah I wondered that as well. Updated, but not acquired. Perhaps then it's "acquired" at some point later on and it'll all appear in the menu then collectively. It would effectively mean this particular issue isn't really one at all. That would probably be the best case scenario and couldn't exactly be ruled out either.

Especially since after making sure the in-game graphical notification of a new asset on the terminal itself(the alliance insignia) is inactive, going to complete an encounter on the Citadel, then returning to check, the terminal notification is present, but the entry in the menu when it's opened is still not.

And yet..if it -were- simply counting the point values without adding the menu entries, I'd expect that it would still add on to the Total Military Strength stat near the bottom...It did not.

Update: Discovered a related instance of this in Docks: Holding Area from the side quest Kite's Nest: Pillars of Strength, which supposedly rewards a Batarian Military asset that also fails to appear in the War Assets menu or add to the Total Military Strength, while still activating the New Asset terminal graphic..

Update: Blood pack asset resulted in "Update: Terminus Fleet", which is reliably counted and added to the War Assets menu. So...update vs acquired makes no difference, I guess.

We are aware of this issue and are currently working to resolve it. In the mean time if you do encounter this issue please PM me the following details:

- Which platform are you playing on?
- Is this your first career (on the profile [profile only applies to xbox/ps3])?
- Did you start your career through "new game" or "new game +"?
- Are you experiencing any other Galaxy at War issues (other assets not showing up, readiness rating stuck, readiness rating at zero, etc)?

Note: If possible please attach a screenshot/photo of your asset page, specifically the asset column that you're missing an asset from.

In case anyone is still wondering here, Citadel Defense Force does not show up as a war asset until after the Priority: Citadel 2 mission is completed. I won't say more then that, to avoid spoilers. Some of the conversations and side-quests that contribute to it will disappear of you do not address them before reaching this point.

However, once the asset finally appears, all of the things you have done will be taken into account. Each thing you do to contribute to it affects it's overall value. You can also continue to affect the score after it appears, as other missions will pop up here and there that will add or subtract from it.

I don't think this is actually a bug, and hopefully this info will help you all to soldier on.

izmirtheastarach: Thanks! I was really concerned about that too, they really should explain that better or else just not let you update that asset until you aquire it. But thanks again for the info :)

Yeah I'd wondered as much. Good to know in the instance of the CDF ones at least.

There were at least a few others as well though, some of them associated with retrieval-type side-quests.
Perhaps they would be answerable in the same fashion..

Ah, I was worried that there was an issue when this wasn't showing up for me even though I'd done a lot of necessary sub-missions, but apparently it's because I haven't done this Citadel priority mission yet. That also might explain why I can't find anyone to take these turret schematics off my hands.

I think theres another bug with it,after that Citadel mission, Supporting either the Angry CSEC or Patient CSEC officer both gives the exact same negative War Asset update =/ anyone else have this issue?

In fact, the "update" related to their argument appears attached to the asset even before taking a side.  I have not established whether war asset strength is accurately allocated, though I suspect that it is not.
