So when I was on my way to the Citadel one day, I found out Cerberus was all over the place. Great. Then I go to rescue the Salarian councilor, can't find him, find him, and then he dies. Great. I find out it was Udina behind all this and pop a cap in his... whatever. So that's all over with.
However, I find out today that he can be saved if you spoke to Thane beforehand. Ironically, I was going to the Citadel for that exact purpose. So, what are the repurcussions of him dying? I'd hate to have to start over on account that I couldn't pick that green guy out of a crowd.

Well Thane lives a littel longer, but I think that you get some Salarian assets (not much) and more support from the council but I don't have any evidence to back this up.

It's also a SPACE ASSET.
Not a ground asset.
Fleets are important after all.

I cured the genophage but saved the salarian councilor during the coup and i talked to hackett and he said the salarians would give me a fleet for saving her but nothing shows up other than the STG that i got with kirrahe
