Did you want EDI as a squad member or did you want some like Wrext too?

Wrex is dead in my game.
Did I want EDI as a squad mate? No.
The idea might be interesting but I didn't like the body they stuck her in, nor the whole EDI/Joker relationship.

No, but given how powerful she is as a squaddie, I'm happy to have her around.
I miss Miranda though, even though defense breaking isn't as big a deal in 3.

I really like EDI her new body did not bother me. I felt it deepened her character how she grew in this game.
EDI and Joker have excellent chemistry.

I hated EDI in the last game so I was reluctant to talk to her but once I did I was pleasantly suprised. If I had my way though I would have destroyed her in the last game.

I would rather have Miranda and Thane but oh well, you can't always get what you want.

I would have been content with Thane, Jack, and Kasumi. They really were the only people I took with me once I had them. As for EDI, I don't mind her, I take her with me when I have too and I did encourage her and Joker's romance. But since I can't have the ones I prefer, I take James and Javik with me.

I was against the idea of giving EDI a robot body, but I do have to admit it turned out better than thought it would. And she was a useful squadmate. Still I would have rather had one of the ME2 squad back.

This. But I like EDI as a character. I just never used her as a member of my squad.

I didnt mind the idea of giving EDI a physical body, but I had no desire to use her for a squad mate. I used her once only because she asked about testing things in combat. I used her in Grissom Academy so I could get the comment from Jack of her looking like a sex bot now. I wanted my girl Jack back as a squad member.

I was a little concerned when I first heard about it, but she turned out to be one of my favorite squadmates, meaning one of the LEAST likely to get themselves killed. Ashley was the worst for this, always ending up in the middle of a gang bang.
Little hooker didn't realize they wouldn't promote her afterward

I grew attached to EDI she is a great addition to the team.

I like EDI, and I like what they've done with her, but no -- I never wanted her as a squadmate. Honestly, Legion was enough to sate my robotic squadmate. EDI was just a little too much for me. I don't know why they put her in, and it annoyed me how much they focused on her looks.
But she was a decent part of the team as a shore party kind of thing. Other than that, I'd prefer she remained on the ship. I didn't take her anywhere until that one mission she needed to be on-board for.

I played as a soldier and took EDI and Liara to have a well rounded squad. Tali was KIA for me.jbajcar wrote...

I liked EDI as a character, but not as a squadie. She'll always be the helpful AI in my head from ME2 in my mind.
Would've prefered Legion.

I loved EDI on ME2. However on ME3 she turned all-knowing-b*tch and hacked into a body (story-wise her body has a reasonable explanation) on top of that... wrong romance idea of Joker/EDI... no I don't like her now.
I wish instead of turning EDI what she is now and slapping a gym bunny jerk on us, they could use 2 more ME2 squadies like Miranda. Miranda have good reasons to stick with Shep. Second one can be Zaeed... at least on my all runs we have an unfinished business with him: Hunting down Vido.

I like the idea in concept, and she provides some of the best humor in the game, but I still can't get over the body's design, nor the overall casualness of the Joker/EDI "relationship". Like, yeah, it's a fun idea, but we see that develop more than Shep's own romance. What the hell.

I liked her as both a character and a squadmate (brought her on every mission once she was available), and the body didn't bother me. The Joker/EDI romance was cute, what little I saw of it.

Did I want her? No.
Was she a good squadmate? Yes.
When I first read that EDI was going to get a body I was concerned. It sounded like bad fanfiction. Not too thrilled with the casualness of the Joker and Edi relationship, but I was happy to see her evolve as a character.
It's not the direction I would have taken it, but I don't work for Bioware.

As a character to add to the story and to give more into the Joker LI, yes.
As a squadmate, no. Get Garrus and Tali together and you have some of the best dialogue in any game ever.
