As suggested in another topic I opened my routers ports in the hopes of being able to connect better to other people.

When my friend and I try to join however it will tell us that we aren't using the same game version. Yet we are, we would even be able to go into multiplayer at all had we not downloaded the patch.

The only thing we can come up with is the online being regionlocked, as in US and EU can't play together? Yet this went flawlessly in the demo and it would be rather dissapointing to learn that for the full version this decision was made.
