I'm just wondering, if someone purchased the standard editon of ME3 but later wanted the bonus items from the N7 Collector's Edition, is there a viable way to upgrade? Because with ME2 the Collector's items comes with a separate code, but with ME3 the bonus items are tied with the Origin activation key, and I don't see how both the standard edition and collector's edition can exist on one Origin account.

I just talked with EA. They said that they could not upgrade it because of the reasons you mentioned. However, this was just with my case where I bought a physical copy from a retailer. If you bought your's on Origin, they may be able to remove the standard one and replace it with the Digital Deluxe Edition, once you pay them the difference of course. I would suggest asking one of their representative online like I did.
