Game gradually slowing down, getting choppier over the course of about 30 minutes

I had this problem with the ME3 demo, and I'm getting it with the full version of the game as well. When I start ME3, movement and framerates are crisp, fluid and quick. As I play though, it gets slower and slower, and choppier and choppier. I've tried disabling the in-game Origin overlay, running ME3 in windowed mode, and dialing the effects down a bit, but I haven't seen any change. Restarting ME3 works for another half hour or so.

Specs:
AMD Phenom II X3 2.8Ghz
8GB DDR2 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4830 512MB
WIndows 7 64 Bit

This happens during singleplayer, multiplayer and on in-game menus as well.

Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Edit: CPU temps are in the mid-40s C while the game is running, and GPU temps are about the same.

I remember a similar thing happening with Dragon Age Origins. I had to install a "TLB FIX" tool. to clear it up. IIRC it's a problem with AMD processors. Try googling Dragon Age Origins tlb fix

EDIT: found this:

This looks promising. I'll give it a shot, thank you very much.

Edit: the TLB problems seem to be an original Phenom thing, and everything I've read says it was patched with the Phenom II processors. Will still give it a try though.

Disable cool n quiet in bios. I did it and it works fine now. Cool N Quiet lowers your clock to 800mhz and then bumps it back up. But it causes it to stutter.

Got the exact same problem as the Op but I own a Intel Core. Any ideas what to do about it?

Specs:

Intel Core i7 CPU Q720 @1.60Ghz
Ram: 4 go
ATi Mobility Radeon HD5470
Windows 64 bits

Turning AMD Cool'n'Quiet off helped a little bit, but didn't fix it. Lagging still happens at around 30+ minutes, but it's not as severe as before.

Lagging happens from first moment game is launched for me. Mostly in cutscenes. No lag in menus. Which is no good, ME3 is a story game, I want to watch a cutscene, not a slideshow!

I am also above minimum requirements for the game and have latest drivers.

The simplest solutions are often the better it seems. I tried to put my computer on a table in a fashion where 2 of the 4 vents could release air freely without being blocked by the table and I hadn't had problems since. But still looking for a solution since that position is quite uncomfortable and quite dangerous since my laptop hang at the fringe of my table now.

My CPU and GPU temps are fine, this isn't a cooling problem.
