#1 PC = Rogue Daggers/Assassin/Ranger with pet out.
#2 Leliana = Rogue Archer/Bard/Ranger with pet out.
#3 Zevran = Rogue Combat Arms/Assassin/Ranger with pet out.

#4a Morrigan = Mage/Shapeshifter/Spirit Healer*
#4b Scooby = Wardog (what else)**

* = Stick her in Midgy/spider/bear form depending on what you have/what your rangers are using for combat and jump to human for healing during "oh...-insert expletives here-" moments.

** = Consider him leader of the pack of the ranger summons.

Anyway, good, bad, indifferent, more importantly, I plan to do this anyway but wondered if anyone already played it?

Which stage does the hilarity ensue exactly?

I haven't tried it, but I could see it as a potentially good way to play. You should set up the Ranger pet tactics every time you summon them so they will do Overwhelm on their target, but basically it means that you have 5 Overwhelms in one group and 3 characters dealing damage on the side. That's pretty sick :-P

I officially dub this the zookeeper build.

I started to try and do this, but got quickly fed up with pets going poof at the start of every zone change and cutscene, and the timers getting reset. It's a major design flaw that needs to be patched, and highly annoying.

Yup, I mean if tactics could be saved etc it would technically be a 7 member group.

Also, if you kept Morrigan in human form and went for "Animate Dead" your talking 8.

I agree, it is in fact annoying that you need to resummon them all the time, and set up their tactics (although I guess that it might be a bug that we can set their tactics and a coding shortcut done). Funny thing is that the pets will all spawn back at camp (and die). My pets haven't gone poof when cutscenes engage, but they get locked outside encounters that has doors that close/paths that get blocked, meaning it's needed to resummon them.

I'm currently playing this build on my 3rd playthrough. For my fourth, I'm having Morrigan with a Skeleton companion to complete my mass summon build. In battles, things get hectic with so many melee people running around.

How are you finding aggro management, I would think to some degree the enemy would almost get confused in some places.

And by hectic she means it turns into a massive cluster****...

Ranger pets are not SUPPOSED to be able to use overwhelm.

anger pets and the dog are bigger than humanoids and get in the way, which means it becomes very hard to concentrate your attacks on one target or simply to be able to reach any target at all in tight corridors.

Oh, I'm also working on the possibly fault assumption "Haste" and "Frost Weapon's" apply to ranger summons as with Dog etc.
