Honestly, Sarutobi probably could have. Orochimaru is no pushover, but when your title is the "God of Shinobi", that does say something.

Leng isnt nearly pretty enough to be an anime hero. also soldier shepard can doge bullets 5 feet away not a hard concept

Kai Leng and the Phantoms, well, Infiltrator for life, baby. Kai Leng kept talking big, like he'd stack up well against me, but Thane really did have right. He got taken out by a terminally ill Drell, and then I just kept shooting him in the head until he stopped using Armor Lock. Fancy dance moves don't mean squat when your opponent can slow time.

Actual performance aside, though, Kai Leng did a good job of being a character I enjoyed hating. And I was genuinely worried whenever he showed up, because his track record in cutscenes certainly improved.

Completely agree. There was so much potential in his character (cool armor sans sword etc) but his role in ME3 ended up reminding me of those fail Japanese RPG antagonists - always losing, coming back to annoy you, losing again...

Who'd take him seriously??!??!

This one loved Kai Leng in the books, the utter ruthlessness of his character, but he never used a ****ing samurai sword(pardon this ones expletives) he was an accomplished sniper, I think the reason they gave him that sword was just to reinforce a decaying asian stereotype.

His character in the game was good, This one simply cannot understand why a cerberus operative implanted with reaper tech would use a samurai sword.

If we're talking about the Kai Leng from the books I think it would be a fair match, the KL in the game had no character and had to call in reinforcements every time he faced Shepard.

I did not like the character felt more like a character for mortal combat series.

As for Kai Leng Vs Thane - Kai Leng Wins - Fatality.

Thane would kick Kei Lang's behind into the next century.  Remember Thane snuck up on Kei Lang.  He wouldn't even see it coming til he was dead on the floor.

he didn't bother me as much because his play was similar to the phantoms but if he had been the only enemy in the game like that I would have been pissed.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with that if you're making anime. But he seemed out of place in Mass Effect.

Kai Leng in the book was more professional and a better fighter than Kai Leng in the game. From the book (3) I got the impression that he would be equal to Thane in his prime (without biotics).

I believe if you are femshep and you romanced thane all you get is an extra line of dialog as he dies, something about meeting him across the sea or something.

Thane would of won if he wasn't dying.
The whole scene made me realize how terrible Kai was, or rather how deadly Thane was.

Now I'm wondering who would of won in a fight, Thane or Shepard...
