So, what was Bioware thought process behind this endings?

It's impossible for them not to have known this would be the overall reaction from players. It's not even about them being good or bad, but they almost, or totally, destroy your Mass Effect experience. It takes every meaning and purpose you once had playing the trilogy. And Bioware knew it. Now, why have  they done such thing? That is my question. I come up with some ideas.
.
1) There was no thought process. They just randomly combined words and called it an end.
.
2) They want you to find a new reason to play Mass Effect, and if you can't, deal with it.
.
3) It's part of a plan to make you buy DLCs in the future.
.
4) It was a way to make it possible to expand the ME franchise in the future.
.
5) They are just trolling you. Something like: "we gave you guys Mass Effect, you didn't like? we take it back!"
.
Anything else?

Hey guys, so I just watched battlestar galactica for the first time. I love it, and I'm pretty sure almost like none of our fans have seen it. Lets just use their ideas and suddenly throw them into the last game!

Total trolling, people take video games and art too seriously to fill gaps and voids in their lives creating negative feedback loops that cause their lives to get worse. So, consider the ending of ME3 the reality check you all need.

Because they actually thought this would be a fitting end to the series?

And it is, for me anyway.

They were desperate to make something "final" so that they wouldn't be pressured into continuing Shepard's saga. Unfortunately for them, it seems to have done the opposite. :P

Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence. I think Bioware genuinely thought that people would be satisfied with the ending.

I don't think that is possible.

I think most of it has to do with tying up the three conclusions that, after a few thousand years, will not look significantly different from one another. Which I get.

Just wish they had given more thought to the epilogue of all the personal relationships Shepard made over the years. Even something like Horde of the Underdark's ending would have been a thousand times more satisfying.

Good comparison. Especially the 'destroy' ending.

I didn't think an ending could be worse than Battlestar's. But Bioware proved me wrong!

The entire Bioware team was hopelessly indoctrinated by The Reapers. There is no other explanation for those endings.

More and more i'm convinced that Bioware asked Obsidian to do the endings... just look at Kotor 2 and New Vegas...

sell DLCs I suppose. Dont see the point since they are all going to be pre-final mission.

I think they simply got carried away with themselves. They got so wrapped up in the EPICNESS of the finale that they didn't stop to make sure it stayed true to the rest of the series.

Like another thread stated so perfectly, 5 years ruined in 5 minutes.
