Agreed, City Elf, especially as a female PC, is quite moving, never before i've been so eager to kill someone.
While Dalish Elf origin gives the best reason to join the Grey Wardens, the quest is pretty boring.

Really? When I started the Dalish origin I was not at all compelled to join the Grey Wardens. They had to really force me in fact.ToJKa1 wrote...

I do feel a bit bummed to read that apparently this one has the worst ending. Should I even continue now I wonder..

I was actually talking about the Origin story in itself (so the beginning of the game), not the ending.
By the way, I've read somewhere that there are crucial differences in how the Dalish origin story is played whether you're male or female.

It's better then Dwarf Commoner (though Dwarf Commoner is a very close second). Of course, that's my opinion. I personally think Dwarf Noble is the best overall.

SPOILER!!
What i meant was that during the origin story you get tainted, and the only way to "cure" it is the Joining.

Dalish Elf was the worst, in that it utterly failed to captivate or interest me.

1. City Elf (female)
2. Dwarf Noble
3. Dwarf Commoner
4. Human Noble
5. City Elf (male)
6. Dalish Elf (female)
7. Dalish Elf (male)
Both Dwarf Nobles are good, but I feel like the male is better 'cause of the threesome.
Edit: Wow, I entirely forgot about the mage.

best: Dwarf noble
(Rather long and very involved with much potential to roleplay (inlcuding the horribly snotty princess), and a nice view into dwarven politics)
worst: City elf
(I don't know why, maybe I've been expecting too much from the previews. But it felt a little short, even rushed. And the "bad guy" way a bit over the top imo, while the (female) pc was spared a little too much to really feel the horror. Or maybe I just prefer playing nobles?
Shianni may be my favourite NPC in the whole game, though.)

and if you think that guy was "over the top" just think of him as a rich frat boy with an influential father, and then factor in the fact that it takes place in a different time period. he even has the posse of yes men following him around.

It is probably just me. I also never really knew how to roleplay my character through that origin. Never really got into her. So that may be in fact my main issue.Deathstyk85 wrote...
i think the female city elf didnt feel the horror as much as some of the others because she was too busy getting a sword and killing guards. although seeing one of your friends throats slashed for no reason right infront of you might be a bit traumatizing.
