I'm in the prologue and entered the Normandy. I had the dream sequence. I want to go back into the Citadel but I haven't discovered how to do this. Please advise.

You stand on the raised platform and select the map that appears. Then you're able to fly around the galaxy and select where you want to go.
Also - note that reapers may appear in your galaxy if you search for artifacts/assets later on . If they run into you, there's no funny cutscene or awesome fight and escape. It's an immediate game over, reload to when you first entered that space of galaxy.
