Ok so upgrading weapon is easy, just buy it, but what about weapon mod? I can't find any option to buy upgrade for my mods, is it unlocked at a later part in the game?

You can only buy them once from the store so I fail to see how that works.

Each instance of a certain mod is always an upgrade to the previous one of the same you had. So if you find some rank I mod, the store will offer to sell rank II of the mod.

I think you can buy some and find some. I imagine later in the game more will become available at the Normandy?

crap so if I miss a mod in a mission then I lose all chances of ever getting rank 5 of that mod?
Backtracking missins area 3 times over to makes sure I got everything is going to be so much fun :/

Such is the life of a gamer perfectionists. I wasn't a huge fan of it either. Not sure if there're actually more upgrade possibilities in the game to let you be able to miss a couple of the upgrades here and there, but considering that most of my mods at the end were not V, I doubt there're more than those 5 around.
