Coming from someone that has played both ME1 & 2 on insanity, I am getting my **** handed to me PLAYING ON NORMAL!!  I imported and am about 7 hours in.  My pride won't let me play on casual, but, goodness, BW decided to really step it up this time with regards to difficulty.  The enemy A.I. is almost too good!  I don't think they miss.
What do you guys think?

I think that my strategy of charging in and shotgun blasting everything has gotten me killed way to much, then again vanguard was way to easy in the second game anyway.

I do find it harder. Had a real tough time on the Krogan scouting party mission.

Hmm I can't say I share the same opinion, I'm playing on hardcore as a soldier and am thinking that it's actually pretty easy. Maybe adrenaline rush is just OP

Playing on Veteran as a Sentinel, mostly Sniper / Pistol with lots of Overload / Warp Support. 25 Hours in and haven't really had much trouble with that config. B-)

It is hard. But I know what I'm doing, hence I don't die too much. There are times where I'll get pulverized once I enter a room. Second time around, that room is cleared out in seconds.

I also have to consider what I may be up against going into the mission, and that'll help me decide who to take with me. Squadmate selection is really the icing on the cake for me to dictate how well the level will go.

Im just about done the entire game on insanity, and I haven't experienced any part where the difficulty even came close to comparing to the collector ship, or horizon or virmire on insanity.

Are you kidding me, im scared ****less to use nova, the damn thing drains my barrier and leaves me more helpless then a turtle on its back.

Weird, I breazed threw those parts. This game is kicking my ass for some reason, maybe it's the nonstop waves of baddys(oh god the DA2 flashbackls).

Up to know, I am beginning to evolve a serious hostility towards the open-level-design. On Mars, it meant:

Lots of enemies on the one side, almost no cover, grenades everywhere, good luck muahahaha. At least here I knew where to go to.

On Eden Prime, up to know it seems:
Lots of enemies, a map like a labyrinth, don't know where the enemies are, enemies know where I am, lots of grenades, easter-hunt searching the damn place for some terminals muahahaha.

I am not amused.

Don't forget not to overload your team mates with weapons and remember to mod their guns too. Makes things much easier.

Huh odd, I will say the rest of the game has been harder then the average of me1/2, i just still have bad memoires of those listed parts. I dont think ive died more than twice on any one part in this game though. It it means anything im talking about this all from the persepctive of an infiltrator.

The only challenge I've really had so far is trying to do all of these stupid Citadel favors! GOD! I want to shoot something! A Soldier should not go this long without shooting!

what you have to do is use only a pistol. by the time you come out of nova's invincibility frames you should be able to charge again. the only danger is when charge won't activate even when the target is locked and not hidden behind cover

Particle beam assault rifle+ Inferno ammo with ammo and dmg mods and aoe inferno ammo pointed in, means everything dies and you never run out of ammo...

I found normal to be too easy so I put it up to hardcore, regular packs I still breeze through, but the circular room at the biotic student academy (think its grissom academy) was fricking tough as a vanguard fully specced into charge, nova, melee and with the reckoner knight armor (more melee damage). Engineers and turrets... Turrets... They do so much damage its unbelievable. Anyway that is the only room I haven't been able to, just about, charge, melee, nova, nova, charge, melee etc in :P I like the difficulty, eventhough it sometimes seems like the AI can shoot through walls :(.

maybe because i played a bunch of ME3 demo Multiplayer before release but i've found the game to be pretty EZ, in fact i had to bump it up to hardcore). I 'm an infiltrator, i've had a lot of luck running around with a hard hitting sniper rifle (mantis/black widow) , having Liara Statis them and then making their head explode.

Yes it is.  I am playing on hardcore and it is very challenging but I like it. You will definitely need thermal clips in this game.  I just plan on carrying one gun from now on, b/c I would rather have my biotics cooldown faster than worrying about running out of TC...

i also found it incredibly difficult on insanity with a fresh start. importing makes all the difference it seems. cuz once i hit the mid 20's on my sentinel, the game all of a sudden became much more playable.

I'm playing on normal, and I'm fine with it after me&2 on casual. Banshees though....fun challenge, brutes are worse in numbers above 2.

I think vanguard is by far the best class for insanity, ignoring the fights where enemies can grab and one hit kill you or are outside chargeable area. Nova with 50% less barrier drain 40% less damage upgrade makes it a lot safer to use. Spam it with biotic charge with 100% shield recharge, and 200% recharge speed bonus by using only a pistol, preferably with pistol sniper scope mod for killing enemies you can't reach by charge. The way to kill guardians, of which there's too many in this game, is to get armor-piercing bullets with incendiary ammo to go through shield and make them panic. Or a little riskier, keep charging them and keep walking forward when you nova, about a 50% chance you will have nova trigger behind their shield. Don't charge banshees they have long arms.

i wouldnt say ridiculously hard but it is very challenging even on normal, I used to melt through enemies on ME 1 and 2 but i gotta admit the Illusive man sure knows how to pick em cuz those cerberus agents are pretty tough
