This is merely a theory, since I'm not THAT into the Mass Effect "universe" per say, however, there is something that doesn't add up. At the very end you end up destroying all the mass relays, which is fine, but there's one REALLY big problem. You have the ENTIRE military force of every single species stuck in the Sol system.
While my Shepard did combine the forces of the Rachni, Salarians, Geth, Krogan, yadadada, how are they all going to inhabit earth? You have Wrex stuck on Earth, unable to get back to really the clans on Tuchanka (spelling), and other issues.
Another issue is the lack of closure regarding to the relationships between the Krogan/Salarian/Turians, the Geth and the Qurians, and the remaining Cerberus forces.
What happens to all your companions? They crash land on some random planet? This makes 0 sense since the Normandy was in the Sol system fighting the reapers. How the hell did it wind up who knows where? Why is it that the companion that died by the reapers giant beam before being transported to the Citadel is getting off the ship with Liara? At least I'm assuming they died since everyone died but you and Anderson on the final push.
Andersons death was completely pointless and unnecessary, the whole cutscene between Shepard/Anderson/Illusive Man seemed rushed.
And did anyone notice that this game was substantially shorter than 1 and 2?
You all really dropped the ball on this. First Dragon Age 2, then SW:TOR, and now this.

Yep, like so many others have expressed in thousands of posts, the ending feels illogical, has tons of plot holes, no closure, and above all feels like it was rushed big time.
They claimed there to be 16 different endings for first playthrough, and an additional one for repeating the game. Unfortunately the 16 different endings can all be pretty much considered to be the same one, with minor variation. I really wish there were actual difference in endings.

Search up "Mass Effect 3 - Shepard's Indoctrination" on YouTube. The ending I think was meant to ****** people off, meant to confuse you. Casey Hudson said so himself. I was pissed off too but after so much time put into this series, the amount of thought put into the Codex and the story, I doubt it's this simple.
In a nutshell:
- The Citadel scene was an illusion within Shepard mind at fighting Reaper indoctrination since his encounter of it in the Arrival DLC.
- Your squad is on the Normandy because they have already been evacuated. Everything that happens after Shepard passes out AFTER Harbinger's laser blast is NOT REAL.
Everything is explained in the video..
