I imported a save with Mordin alive in it, and I am wondering how that scene proceeds without these characters. Does Mordin get replaced by some other nameless salarian? How does the scene concerning the genophage go?

From what I've heard, he gets replaced by the salarian who you meet on Sur'Kesh. I think his name is Padok.

Wrex is replaced by Wreav, much like in ME2, and Mordin is replaced by Padok Wix.

Another salarian takes Mordin's place. He actually has some pretty funny dialogue about Krogan if you talk to him on the Normandy.
