Hello.

I know there are probably many many posts regarding this topic but ....

I want to buy the ladies N7 Elite Armour Stripe hoodie from the bioware store, however I live in th UK and I know that US sizes and UK sizes are different and the size chart is slightly confusing for me.

I am 5'4" tall and wear a size 14 in most tops. I own an American Apparel hoodie which is a Medium.

So in theory if I were to order a Medium Ladies N7 Elite Armour Stripe Hoody it should fit me right?

Thanks =]

Also if anyone has bought one could you tell me how well the fit? Would be a great help :)

Hey, I've seen a video about that hoodie on youtube. She mentioned in her review it was a size M (best seen in the end of the vid). Not sure how tall that woman is but you could write her a mail. Guess she is around 5'4'' too.

Hi there! I found it very confusing too! I'm from the UK too so their size chart is so confusing :(
I contacted someone from the store by email and they said for me to get a medium or a large, I'm usually a size 12 (36" chest) if that's any help!
I measured one of my own hoodies and it actually measured 41" when pulled flat so I guess it's right :)

I bought a mens small in the end, which hasn't arrived yet, but it was the same size as a ladies large and cheaper lol!

Awesome thanks guys :) M is probably right, think the large would almost be as long as me lol

Yeah I'm worried about the length too, I'm only 5ft3 lol :( But then they all seem pretty long which is why I went for the mens as it was cheaper anyway, might sell it to the mister if it's too big for me and then get a ladies medium lol!

does anyone happen to know how much these hoodies shrink when washed?

i ask cause i had planned on getting a medium hoody yesterday, but they're sold out.
if they shrink a fair size, i may end up just getting a large and putting it through the dryer.

thanks in advance for any info.

I'm not sure, I wouldn't have thought they would shrink much.

I'm still undecided which size to buy >.< I want medium for the length but I don't know if the width will fit >.< as their guide says it smaller by like 2 inches, which i guess isn't much if its stretchy.

i emailed the company that makes the hoodies and they said there's no plans to restock medium, at this time. they said maybe during the fall/winter seasons.

guess those of us looking for medium either have to wait and see if they actually do restock, or take our chances with getting a larger size and hoping it shrinks enough to fit similar to medium >>

tough decision Oo

Ah that sucks >.< don't wanna wait till winter :( well i guess a larger hoodie that still fits and has a bit of room is better than nothing, like you said it may also shrink. I cant decide what size would fit me best so going for large is best i guess. Wouldn't want to order a medium to find that it doesn't fit then have to pay a huge amount to return it.

Then again there is the option of buying a mans small hoodie which is pretty much the same, cant imaging the fitting would be too different for us girls.

hmmm decisions >.<

i'm almost tempted to wait and see if the medium is restocked, though there's no guarantee if it.
but i'm also tempted to just get the large, to ensure that i get one at all!

since the hoodies are cotton/ploy-fleece blend i googled how to shrink them. hot water, then straight into a hot dryer. the only problem is that it said any colors that have been dyed could bleed >> and i read that the armour stripe is dyed red. not a separate strip of fabric.

i know there's a way to stop clothes from bleeding all over others... which i think was to soak them in a gallon of cold water with 1/2 cup of salt and 1/2 cup of pure white vinegar first. leave them for an hour or so.
i wonder if doing that first, then doing the hot water/dryer cycle, will stop any problems from occurring?

a lot of people on forums were saying to use color-catcher sheets, that you can buy pretty much anywhere. putting that in the wash at the beginning should help keep colors from spreading to other parts of the clothing.

aaaand i wasn't expecting this post to turn into a lesson on shrinking and color-bleeding :P

hope this info helps others decide on whether to wait to just get a larger hoody. i may test this first with a new shirt i got recently. hope it works cause i really want a hoody! XD

i have another question regarding these hoodies, that i just now realized i've been aware of for a while.

why is the large hoody 3 INCHES longer than the medium? i messured that length on myself. i'm only about 5' 6", and that hoody would come down to almost mid thigh. that's way too long for me. i'd rather have the medium and have it just come below my hips.

maybe companies should start making up new sizes. large and large-lite! same width across the chest, but slightly shorter length, for those who aren't tall enough for a regular large size >>

I know im about the same size as you and it would come down way too low for my liking and i dont want it hunched up around my hips, would look silly so medium is best i think.

Guess we're just gonna have to wait for a medium and hope they restock before winter. >.<

i certainly hope so ~~'

i'm not a fan of the ending to ME3 (though the indoctrination theory actually has compelling evidence to clear things up), but the series as a whole is still one of the best around, and i would love to show off my support for it. plus, the hoody just looks so frickin' comfortable!

maybe if we bug Treehouse Brand enough they'll restock before summer XD

there's people who wear those bloody wool ski hats all summer, so why can't we have winter hoodies? :P

I went just went ahead and bought the ladies' XL (the smallest size left), in case they don't restock them. I haven't quite finished my first playthrough (although I'm spoiled silly) but the game thus far is so incredibly good, and I've been such a fan of the series, I wanted something to remember it by. And watching Shepard wear the CE hoodie in my campaign for hours has convinced me I want one like it! LOL.

I know the XL will be too big, and WAY too long on me, but I'm also a fair hand with a sewing machine and serger. I don't like the shape of the hoodie on the bottom anyway, seems to make hips look bigger than they are, so I have plans to shorten it, shrink it (washing cotton in warm water and drying it in the dryer), and possibly remove the velcro and replace it with snaps if I can (I generally hate velcro). But I love that inside pattern of the hood, and the fact that the N7 is embroidered on, and the stripes are sewn on fabric, not silkscreen. Sounds like a great quality sweatshirt, which is why I went ahead with a large one I intend to alter, instead of getting one of the many less expensive copies out there.

(Yes, resurrecting an old thread, in case anyone else is interested in getting a larger size and altering it.)

Also resurrecting an old thread but I'm really interested in hearing how well the warm water and drying stuff worked for you guys. I had to suck it up and order an XXL men's and although I have a pretty broad chest and shoulders, this hoodie is still going to be massive (haven't received it yet). My main concern is the stripe colors bleeding. Please, any details on your experiences is welcome :).
