I played through ME1, oh...countless times probably!  ME2, I practically have every line of dialogue memorized.  But I can barely even look at the ME3 case after that ending.  Is anyone else in the same boat?  I'm curious.

I've tried all three endings, tried playing multiplayer--I just can't stand the game anymore.

And that really hurts.

I feel the same way, though I may play multiplayer with some of my friends. I really cannot believe what they did to their own franchise.

Yeah, I've pretty much stopped playing the game for a while. I can't even look at the icon on my desktop without feeling a vague sense of disappointment and regret.

I can't even fathom wanting to go through all that heart ache again just to end up with more heart ache. I'd have be a freakin sadist.

I'm on my second playthrough (I'm only right at the beginning, directly after Mars) but every time I think about what will be different (for example my first game I romanced Thane, destroyed the reaper base, kept wrex alive etc etc and my second game is basically did the opposite of everything and a Garrus romance instead) I just remember that the endings are all the same and all I want to do is go replay ME2 and pretend ME3 never happened. I want to want to play ME3, but ultimately I'm so disheartened it's painful for me as well. I probably won't go all the way through with it.

I really enjoyed the demo and I played the crap out of MP so I was so excited to jump back into MP but now I'm just like whats the point?

It really is hurtful to have such a beloved series just crumble right there at the end.

I can't even fathom wanting to go through all that heart ache again just to end up with more heart ache. I'd have be a freakin sadist.

Word.

I am fine with it, the journey for me is what matters.

I always figured the ending would be... bad.

I understand the ending maybe I'd prefer something else, but it makes sense and none of the proposed endings take into account that the Relays were a trap / prison or that the Reapers can't just be some rebelled AI and so I've yet to see any proposed ending that even makes a logical amount of sense outside of the ones we've been given. That being said, I'd of preferred the ability to talk with the Guardian and investigate some things before going off to choose.

Respectfully, the old adage that its not the destination that matters its the journey that gets you there is a fine speech to give to your high school basketball team that just lost the state championship.  However, in a story that should serve to inspire people and give them hope in a bleak world, that adage is pointles and stupid.  If I spend all that time and am left feeling depressed at the end, then it was a waste of time.

I will play the game multiple times, to get my 80 hours worth out of it (dollars to hours value). And I do enjoy the combat, multiplayer not so much.

Though at this rate no DLC will make it the game it should have been. Why couldn't we just get a bad ending or a good ending, each with their own paragon or renegade variation?

I am in the exact same boat as you. After finishing it, I was inspired to join the military and emulate Shepard as best as I could. I felt like a part of me died after that ending.

Just a quick note, please make sure this thread stays on topic and doesn't get into a discussion of the ending...just the impact the ending had on the game's replayability. There is already a thread to discuss the endings: http://social.biowar...ndex/9655768/16

I actually try to do a renegade run... Just to check out some of the timed missions i missed. Oh boy this sucks. Totally lackluster. In ME1 and ME2 i couldnt wait for a new run. Just to play the classes agian try different angles on the story. But here... Its the same classes to basically... Good for me i haven't player soilder yet, so at least that will give me som fun for a while. But the ending is so uninspiring that you don't want to expierence it again.

I wont do the end run again for sure, maybe play until that. Also i've noticed that i tab out during auto dialogue to check the forum/type something. And i hammer on space as soon as the dialogue comes. This is a really bad sign :D

And for those of us in the military, Mass Effect was always a source of hope and inspiration.  Now...well to put it simply not anymore.  I'm not eve sure I could play ME1 or ME2 now.

I am also in the same boat, i started a second game but i have no interest in it. I have 400 hours in ME2 alone on my steam account, and I also beat the game 6 times on my PS3. And i played the first one just as much. The real shame is that it kind of tainted those games now too.

I might do a NG+ sometime later, but after that ending I have no desire to play through the game with my 8 other saves from ME2

I was hoping the Crucible would be like the galactic version of the atomic bomb, so in the end... You're given the choice to whether unleash this un-foretold power and start a new era like the atomic era of our time. Big responsibility and all that...

Gosh, Hackett even mentions this in the game!!

Using the Crucible would significantly minimize the loss of the galactic fleet, but at a cost (loss of synthetics, each race stacking Crucible power like the cold war, If Shepard saved the Rachni queen and cured the genophage, it certainly would've been something the Turians or Salarians would be interested in... etc)

With earth's unique history, Shepard would be familiar of the risk of unleashing such power... And with that in mind plus the EMS rating showing how the war is going... The player would be forced (once again like the Collector base saving part) to make a decision.. Maybe if you played your cards right in ME1 and 2, you don't need to resort to using the Crucible, (maybe even disable it when Cerberus tries to hijack it?)

Or maybe it's just about some flippin' closure!!!

I guess that's what it is... Where my closure? All of my decisions have no bearing thanks to the galaxy resetting itself and yes.. I agree with the comments above. I really don't feel like coming back.

So sad...

According to steam, I have like 600+ hours invested in ME1 and 2.

I don't want to play ME3 anymore, after one playthrough, about 25hrs.
