.
I assume it's from ME3 guide.
.
Read the third paragraph.
.
It says there is an "secret ending" if you play the game for a second time. Anyone know more about this?

People say its the stargazer bit. With grandpa and kid talking. I could be wrong though.

Pretty sure it is the one with the granpa and the kid. But is still a variation of the others.

Wasn't the stargazer one in the first playthrough ending.

Agreed. I just completed my first playthrough and I saw that after the credits.

Or it could just be this, since the requirement for that ending is pretty damn high.

Which is lousy, considering that it just leaves one ending that's slightly crappier than the rest.

I suspect that between the printing of the guide and the release of the game, the secret ending was repurposed or removed. If it was repurposed, it's likely either the Shepard lives ending or stargazer.

The game is fun to play, aside from the rachni mission (textures looked horrible on PC) and the ending. But I don't want to play again until I know for sure their is some special secret ending...

ME2 I shall return.

This may be worth investigating. I have the guide and that's all it says about a secret ending, but I might try to get it.

hm any volunteer to complete it a second time right now? :P

I think with a bit of distance I will play the game again, but so short after finishing this ending I'm too depressed.

That's how I'm feeling. If there's confirmation that there is a secret ending that has Shepard reunited with Liara, I will jump back in. As of right now, I'll let my emotions recover before I approach this game again.

I have done my second play through already because with the majority I seeked a different ending, one that would not leave me tattered and torn emotionally. I spent and entire day dedicated to Multiplayer getting my readiness percent up to a hundred and promoting many level 20 squads to the war effort in single player. I had almost 7000 total military strength and a 100% readiness.. Anderson still dies, the 3 choices are still the same. Joker still runs, and your squad still makes it back to the normandy. The only difference is that if you have the numbers stated above and you select the Destroy all synthetic life.. the end of the cinematic is a panning shot of the Citadel wreckage that pans in on a battered and torn body with a pair of N7 dog tags.. then at the last moment the chest heaves in and out as if some one is gasping for air.. This is highly assumed that this is Shep. coming back to life..

I do not mind the dark and depressing ending but I would have liked to see one that did not involve tearing apart the past 5 years of story and friendships I created.. I find myself wanting to play the first game again just to have more time with Garrus, Liara, and Tali... now that this is over.. I can honestly say that I miss them.

Just as I thought.

For shame, BioWare. For shame.

Honestly? I think that the main problem is the we couldn't ask the Catalyst any questions. Where did IT come from? How did it create the Reapers? Etc, etc... I honestly think each of the three endings has its own merits. I wish there'd been a showdown with Harbinger somehow in the ending, but overall, the endings work for me. I think they're a fitting end in each case, for different reasons.

There definitely should be more variations... and the player should have gotten feedback about how well they did. What sucks is that we don't get feedback. We don't get any closure. But as for the endings themselves? Not a problem. I want to know what happens afterwards. How does everyone get back home? What do the Reapers do if controlled or synthesized? What happens to the Normandy crew? How the hell did my two squadmates survive Harbinger's death rays and make it back to the Normandy?!

There are answers that were not given and should have been. That is the problem. The LACK of an ending with closure. It happened with DA2. I don't know why people are so surprised it happened here. This was marginally better, at least. Marginally. Better than what I expected after all the moaning and b**ching I saw here. Still a lot of moaning.

Hm. "Problematic."

Also. WHERE WAS JOKER GOING that he needed TO USE THE MASS RELAY?! WHY DIDN'T HE WAIT FOR SHEPARD? Especially after that conversation where HE BLAMES HIMSELF for SHEPARD'S DEATH LAST TIME. -FACEPALM-

Considering my Shepard showed that Synthetic life and Organic life can work together it makes all of the Catalyst's point null and void. Sure it was hard, but in the end MY Shepard would not have stood idly by and not brought that up. He would not have let some AI/VI/Godchild thing dictate the terms of the end of the reapers.

Fully agreed with this one here..  After Shep fought so hard to bring the Galaxy together only to be told by some godchild that no matter what you do, you will die and every one is stranded where they currently are.

I remember thinking the same thing.. He what do you mean synthetics and organics can not get along.. did you not see what I just did with the geth and quarians... The Geth themselfs even said they did not want to fight their creators.. they only acted in self defense.. The only reason the Geth were who they were is because of Reaper control..  They whole time I was like.. Shut up kid. I can make this work... with out dieing.

The secret ending was most likely removed or changed to the ending where Shepard lives. Someone with a space edition went through the game over 2 times. He said there was no secret ending.

Thus deepens this sadness.... here is my fingers crossed for a Broken Steel-esk type DLC or just a few really different endings added in with a patch. Something that reflects our choices and something where not every one is alone...

hell I would have been happy with a scene of every one slowing meeting up at the little bar in Rio that Jacob talks about.. one after another Shep and his crew walk in and sit down.. They would be smiling, laughing.Shep and Love intrest would holding hands, exchange a kiss. Garuss gets a giant hug because he cool as hell. Only to find out that what we were watching was all of them in "heaven" together in afterlife happy and at piece.

I believe that importing a ME2 playthrough counts as playing through it twice.

Exactly... Oh I wanted to tear that damn AI/GodCPU kid a new one... Which makes that all even worst because resolving that conflict... null/voids that kids entire  though process. Matter of fact  you can look at all the conflicts and the being resolved nulling that "Things" logic.   Even then  we still get little explanation as why it all started, why  "Guardain", "The Catalyst" even thought this Cycle was good idea or more important who created it. ... the endings are all just a mess...

Haha, that's my link...weird how things travel so quickly.

Anyways, the discussion we're having where I originally posted it is that it says that you had to have completed it twice in order to receive the secret ending. It doesn't say 'NG+ receives a secret ending', it says 'complete the game a second time'. The word completion has very little wiggle room - you finish the game from start to finish and then, hopefully, that means the secret ending is unlocked.

So, several of the people over at the OP are going to go for a third run through. It's going to rip up our hearts, but we have to know.

And, a little info for everyone suggesting it's just one of the other endings that are considered difficult to get - the guide clearly shows how to get each and every ending. Even the endings where Shepard lives. It lists every possibility.

Also, Prima did a live Q&A on March 6 regarding the guide. You can find it here:

http://www.primagame...pic/281/?page=1

I haven't gone through every page yet, so I'm not sure if they mention it. They do, however, discuss how involved Bioware was in the making of this guide - apparently, the guide has some insights into great NG+ bonuses.

While it's possible they messed up, the Q&A suggests they're legit.

I say we get through a third playthrough and then give up. Until then, soldier on.
