Will Dragon Age:Origins have any npcs as interesting and memorable as Minsc?  Whether you liked him or not, the geniuses responsible for Minsc and his diaglogue are largely responsible for the success of the Baldur's Gate franchise.  Will any computer game ever have a character as interesting and memorable as Minsc?  While we wait the final 24 hours for our next fix of rpg goodness I offer some favorite quotes:

Go for the eyes Boo!  Go for the eyes!

You point, I punch.

Less talk, more fight!

Make way evil! I'm armed to the teeth and packing a hamster!

Full plate, and packing steel.

I hope so! Bioware usually offers very interesting NPC's, so I'm sure there's going to be some greatness amongst them.

Minsc is pretty goddamn memorable. I barely remember any other NPCs from those games, but I remember Minsc perfectly. He'll be hard to top.

I like some of Liliana's battle cries, specifically where she says something like "don't _________, it's embarrasing!" or the one where she ends a battle with only a little health... can't really remember them exactly -.-

Really--no one else from that memorable crew.  Favorite line from Imoen--Together again, just like old times, except for the torture and all.

There is a nice topic about it with a link to a Minsc/Boo website with all their char voiceset available for hearing! I enjoyed that all over again!

This guy has me laughing constantly. True, he's not quite as awesome as Minsc, but his banter is still hilarious.

I find it funny when I'm on hold position, then:

Leliana, select and move: "I'll be right there" in her sexy voice

Pc, select and move: "Do this, Do that"

Oghren, select and move: *BELCH*

See, I could never get to like Minsc, at least in Baldur's Gate. He never had anywhere near the amount of funny one-liners in the first game and as a PnP FR player, I was aware someone in Bioware's art department had flipped the ethnic appearances of both he and Edwin. It's hard to take a Rashemmi beserker seriously who's bald with cranial tattoos like a Mulanese Red Wizard of Thay and a Red Wizard of Thay who's scruffy haired with a dreadlocked beard, like a Rashemmi Beserker.



I admit though, he and Edwin grew on me in Shadows of Amn.

Ohgren's banter with Wynne is rather humurous, if anyone else has used those two together.

I've heard from a few people that if you get the "dog" companion and name it "Boo" or "booboo" your character will scream "go for the eyes boo!" anyone confirmed this..cause that would be awesome. I <3 Minsc...I had the have him in party all the time.

The dialogues between party members is priceless. Alistair and Morrigan are... excellent. But Sten and Shale are also great, constanty disparaging humans and their... "squishyness". Shale does have an unhealthy obsession with pigeons though!



And it's fairly sad that you only get Oghren "for real" only where you get him. Few people go that way at first, which means you miss out a lot of interaction with him.

I don't think Bioware will ever top Edwin in my books. It always aggravated me that he was the whipping boy though.

Love him or hate him, Minsc has evolved to almost legendary status. Will anyone from DA:O ever rival his fame? I couldn't say.
