*****POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW*****:

Once I walk into the room after seeing Miranda get jumped by the crazy ninja guy, it freezes and closes to desktop. I can't get past it. It's the room with the medi-gel thing on the wall, an ammo crate by the door to the left, Reaper tech on the table and some pods behind that.

Same here. Gives me a headache. If it was a side mission, I'd just skip it, but surpriiiise: It's a main mission. Damn.
I'm going to fiddle around with the graphics options, maybe that helps.

Automat1c, would you like to share your system specifications? Maybe we can narrow it down to a certain configuration. I'm playing on an AMD HD 6950 and an Intel i7 950 here. I should try updating my GPU drivers, as well.

Updating GPU drivers didn't help, but there are two more threads about this:

I'm going to try the solutions listed there.

UPDATE: Restarting the mission did it to me. I still haven't seen the image Kolero mentioned here, but maybe I just missed that and his suggestion helps you. Good luck!

Add me to the list of those having this problem. I'll update if I find a solution.

I found loading the autosave from the battle right before this fixed the problem for me. Thankful not to have to restart the whole mission.

I have this exact issue, loading the autosave didn't fix it either. Going to retry starting the mission again and seeing how it goes but it's not really good enough :(

This happened to me twice in a row. Reloaded from autosave instead of quicksave and it worked. I sent my squadmates into the room before I went in too, dunno if that made any difference.

Try turning off shadows, then load the save.

I got though by spamming Quicksave as I walked(holding Ctrl) through the door. This was done in windowed mode.

I experienced the same problem, and managed to fix it the same way.
