That being said, this is more evidence than could be found for the argument that this wasn't EXTRA DLC, this char was very much made as the game was being developed.

I need to do another playthrough to see what the dialogue options are like. I didn't use him much, and there are way too many cool interactions between the party members to only play this once.

Yeah a lot, and he supercedes the entire dialog scene with the beginning Asari when you're supposed to convince her to help, since he just touches her and controls the situation. After, Liara is pissed off to no ends with him.

Yea he definitely wasn't extra DLC. So much stuff overlaps very naturally in the progress of the game that he couldn't have been extra. Thessia is clear evidence of this.

I was a little annoyed though that he was taking control so much.

I agree with javik and liara just overreacted imo.
If I came to you on a trip to a museum and started telling you all the secrets of that history and removing any semblance of anything you believed and then went to your church and started determining all the factors and denying things and showing proof in some small capacity I was right, you too would be upset, have your mind blown, and "overreact".

Than the asari need to get off ther lazy asses and actually do something they had a LONG time to try to figure out how to stop the next cycle yet the just got lazy and complacent they got exactly what they deserved.
Did you ever consider that they might not have actually been able to learn everything from that beacon or even activate it? Or understand it?
It was said in ME that the data in that Beacon was beyond immense.

They should have tried harder.

Tying Matriarch Benezia into it was EXTREMELY interesting. Not killing her should have been an option in 1. She knew about the Conduit AND the Catalyst...

Not TRUE. That's supposition and poor assumption. Having knowledge of a potential Prothean technology existing in a secret place does not in any way mean you knew all that was on it or anything on it, just that it existed. The big secret was that hiding Prothean tech is an illegal crime at the top of all crimes.

I think the best interactions are the ones between Liara/Javik and EDI/Liara.... also each planet have a specific ideal team, for example in Thessia is Liara/Javik.... in Horizon is EDI/Javik, in Sur'Kesh Liara/Garrus and so.

EDI and Javik are not ideal for Horizon how you can think that is beyond me.

James = new guys' perspective, good for a new ME3 player who knows nothin and doesn't want to know anything, lol. He's also, if you don't get the DLC, and don't have Garrus and Tali, the 'stable squadmate slot' along with Liara. Ash/Kaiden are variable, so not entirely 'stable' in themselves, making Liara/James your base alien + human squadmate team.
Javik = Lore lore lore lore so much lore. If not interested in lore, and prefer companion interaction and history, go with ones other than him,
Tali/Garrus = JUST LIKE OLD TIMES JUST LIKE OLD TIMES. Ties to all previous games, essentially.
Liara = a base plot element/character to tie the progress of the series together. From scientist to info broker to the galactic shadow broker, she symbolizes the scale things have come to.
EDI = the 'off topic comments' squadmember. Go to her if you want dialogue that doesn't exactly have to do with anything 'important', but rather just interesting info on her take on things. Javik fits this too, but he gives more info on the lore-a-liscous Prothians, while EDI just blabs about AI stuff.
