I have been gaming my entire life and I have to say the ME3 ending was the most dissapointing thing I have witnessed not just in video games but in any piece of entertainment. When it was over I sat there in awe at its awfulness knowing that I had no closure and that none of my decisions from all past games and even ME3 made any difference. It literally pained me after having played the ending, even now I'm walking around the house in a depressed state unable to comprehend how such a mess of an ending could have been aprroved. Note as countless others have stated I'm not looking for a happy ending I just want closure, I would have even been fine if EVERYONE died, but we saw some future civilization recover our warnings.

But with this ending there was no closure, no difference between the endings, no decisions that affected the outcome, and none of the choices lined up with the themes presented throughout the game. Ronald Moore stated that when writing the end for BSG after trying to figure out a way to tie everything up and answer every question he realized that was not the purpose of the show and wrote on the writers board room "It's about the characters stupid". I feel as if the ME writers forgot about this when writing the ending. The entire ME trilogy has ALWAYS been about the characters and the people you interact with, even in ME3 all throughtout the game it is about the characters and their feelings and relationships. But when we reach the ending the whole personal drama built around the characters is dropped for an ending that leaves us with no resolution or glimpse into their future. And ultimately the end of the Mass Effect universe as we know it.

I don't care what you have to do BioWare, a patch, a DLC, whatever I will even pay for it, but please fix this mess of an ending and give us some resolution. We have all followed this franchise for over 5 years we deserve some closure.

Yeah... I was looking forward to this game for so long... Now Im just depressed. This is a shame because I always suffered from depression, and games (mass effect in particular) were the seemingly the only thing I still enjoyed.

I agree 100% this ending is unsatisfactory. Well..ALL of the endings are unsatisfactory. Especially since this is a game all about choices and in the end you're FORCED to choose between 3 bad endings where you die. (I know about the one where shepard's chestplate moves like he's still alive but still). These so called endings offer no closure no satisfaction and just leaves the player feeling like he wasted 5 years caring about these characters.
Describing this game would be like: say you're on a water slide, it's really fun, splashing around having fun. and when you get to the bottom, you land in a pool of poo instead of water.

Unacceptable Bioware, 100% un..ac...ceptable

Ah, it was foreshadowing.  This was the plan the whole time.  Curse you Harbinger.  Curse you.

It would be funnier if Harbinger actually had any lines at all in ME3.

But apparently he gloats at you for an entire game then shuts up for the next one.

At this point, with all this criticism from virtually all the fans, I think Bioware would have to be extraordinarily stupid to not try and do something to fix it.

Then again, they had to be pretty stupid to think this was an acceptable way to end the series to begin with, so I'm not too hopeful.

I'm not one to usually post of the forums, ( I'm a pretty damn good lurker though! ) but I have to say these endings are 100% crushing. It's stupid but I know I did all the right things and still got an ending that made me despise the game. Yeah it's dramatic to say that but I wanted happiness not only for the galaxy but for Shepard. He fought too damn hard just to have nothing matter in the end.

I'm really at a loss like the rug was pulled from underneath me. I guess this is what they wanted but it isn't what I wanted.

Oh man this. This so much. I said before that when i was in assisted living that is when i really really got into Mass Effect. It was an escape from the **** that was my life. I can't save everyone in my life and I can't convince them to save themselves, but shepard can.  I may not have a happy ever after, but I thought shepard could.  All this work I did, and I have nothing to show for it. Shepard is alive or dead, and all the people she cares about are gone forever. The people she loves are forced to have kids with someone else.

It sucks.

Dragon Age 2 isn't even close to being this bad.  I can replay DA2.  I won't be able to replay ME3.  All the endings hurt me.  Hours later and as pathetic as it sounds I can not shake how bad the endings made me feel.

Exactly. The ending of DA2 wasn't very good (Hawke randomly disappears lol!), but at least I survived, got to stay with my LI, and didn't have to deal with some magic Guardian thing and 3 different choices of awful. It, for me at least, was worth a replay. ME3, unless the ending is fixed, is not.

I'm pretty much amazed at how bad I've been feeling about this since completing the game yesterday. Some sort of very unpleasant knot in the chest. It's nasty.

I really liked the endings.

I really should stop coming to the Bioware forums; I'm always in the minority of things when I do. D:

And I thought the little scene after the credits was sweet, too. I remain excited for future installments in this universe.

Be thankful you're in the minority. Most people here wanted Disney in Space.

I finished the game yesterday and when I did I felt so physically sick that I actually went into the bathroom and threw up my dinner. Then again it was probably the seafood, but omg I really feel the same way as you OP, I am incredibly depressed that this is what we got after being promised so much by Bioware.
