This is driving me crazy. The enemy AI on insanity is exactly right for me. I'm enjoying the challenge.

That said... I'm basically playing a solo game. I'd rather have throwable bricks rather than my squadmates sometimes.

Ignoring the fact they just stand out in the open and don't use cover half the time, they completely ignore my move orders.

Right now, I'm on the Grissom Academy mission, on the part where there are waves of *unspecified* enemies, a long ramp, and an open space in the middle.

I keep telling Liara to stand BEHIND the wall. Sometimes she'll do this, so I forget about her for a bit. Then I look, and she's standing IN FRONT OF THE BARRIER AGAIN. And then I start mashing the q key, saying, "MOVE HERE MOVE HERE MOVE HERE" and she says "Got it!" and doesn't move.

Earlier in the same mission, when you meet a former squad mate from ME2 under attack, there's an atlas in the middle. I kept telling my squad to move to the opposite end of the room from the Atlas. Instead, they stood exactly where they were, and got blown up.

This is driving me insane.

I read people having similar problems with Mass Effect 2 that if you switch them to pistols, they get less dumb. Seems to be partially true here. But what is the deal with the squad mates completely ignoring your orders? It is making this nearly unbeatable because instead of having 2 squadmates, I have 2 liabilities not worth wasting medigel on.

I'm not expecting them to get an award for brilliance. I don't expect them to use tactics. But dang it, I expec them to follow direct orders.
