Ok folks this is for WIN 7 64bit ill tell you how to do this step by step i have done this for my self and 3 of my friends so it works. If you still cant get it to work then you either are doing it wrong or dont have the right save. First you need a ME2 save not a ME1 and it must be after you completed the Suicide mission and beat the game SHEPARD MUST HAVE SURVIVED. Ok now if you have your ME2 game on your computer make shure the folder that has the ME2 saves in it  is in the DOCUMENTS/Bioware/Mass Effect 2/save. Do not try to put them in the ME3 folder it must be in the Mass Effect 2 folder. If you only have your saves like me go to documents then bioware then make a folder called Mass Effect 2 just like that case sensitive then in the ME2 folder have a save folder in that folder marked save put your saved games. Now go back to game hit import if there is nothing there then YOU SCREWED UP something or you dont have the right saves. This does work cause i have done this on 4 differnt systems that include my own. If you have a question feel free to ask and i will help but remember i can only help WIN 7 64 bit users since that is what i have done it on good luck

I have to add that it isunbelievably lame that there is no search for files manually function, and in addition the game can't find the save games by itself. I mean, really...

You use the document file all ready on your computer it where ME3 puts its save as-well. Hit start menu look on the right of the menu that pops up under your computer user name should say documents thats the spot

Well, it works insofar as to recognize my save files, which is a HUGE step forward! I can't thank you enough, really! :)
But now i still have the problem of face import, which is not a deal breaker i guess, just a bit of a drag...
Who would have imagined it would be this simple :P
Thanks again :)

Hey yes there are some problems with face importing and thats all bioware maybe there will be a patch but i would suspect that is a low priority for them
