Yeah you can blow though it in 20 hours if you just do some main quests and skip dialog. I was close to 60 hours as well.

Still entertainment for $3/hour is a better rate than you get in most places and in most games where 8-10 seems sadly common place now.

Its not really bioware's fault you sprinted through the game, skipping dialogue, and ignoring side quests. The fact that the character you finished the game with is only 18 says a bit too.

It's one of the longest RPGs I've played for a while. Recent ones like Risen and Drakensang you can blast through in a couple of sessions. The Witcher was the last RPG prior to Dragon Age that actually had a decent length campaign. My first run through for Dragon Age was 78 hours, I started a second game a few days ago on Hard instead of Normal and this one looks like it might be longer than the frst - I was up to 14 hours when I arrived at Lothering for the first time.

We need more games like this but sadly more and more people seem content to buy games that only offer 8 hours gametime so there's less incentive for developers to make them - Bioware and Bethesda are the last two remaining I think.

85+ hours and still playing and enjoying the campaign (apart from DLC issues). And I'm only 75% complete on the side quests. I wish they had added more side quests.

Well your profile says it took you more than 30 hours. Which is quite a lot for someone, who probably skipped most sidequests, dialogues, etc.; and just tried to finish the game as fast as possible, so that he can make a stupid post in this forum.

Btw it took me 133 hours on hard difficulty and I didn´t just stand around all this time...

133 hours? wow, that's alot. I think I had around 60 as well when I finnished the game. I too wish for more sidequest. I wouldn't mind an addon that added a huge amout of new sidequests instead of a new area, like Wardens Keep (allthough I liked that addon as well)

DLCs are just 5-7 bucks. You probably pay more than that to see a crappy movie that only entertains you for an hour and a half.

"This game is too short! I skipped all the side quests, all the dialog, followed a walkthrough, played on casual, and it only took 20 hours! I demand more content!"

Maybe if you didn't skip all the side quests, all the dialog, follow a walkthrough, and played on casual, the game would have taken longer... just a thought.

Well why I'm impressed by your supper mutant time compression talents I don't think bioware can be held responsible, if you completed this in 20 hours you must be able to finish most other games in under 2.

Honestly I can't imagine how you could finish this game even ignoring most side quests, auto leveling, skipping all dialog that you can and not looting anything, I still think it would take more than 20 hours. I haven't finished yet and this is the biggest game I've played in years.

I find it very hard to believe this claim based on my own experience, I've played 40+ hours and am not nearly finished yet.

they charge for content that should be free

should be free

And why is that? Isn't that up to them? They work on DLC just as they would be working on a new game with its own budget. So why is it up to us, the fans, to decide if something should be free?

It is idiotic to skip most of the content while sprinting to the finish line, then come here and complain about the game not having any content.

They don't have to create DLC at all. They are working on other games which will bring revenue for their efforts, so if the fans want more content for Dragon Age, then someone has to pay for the man hours and resources required to produce the content, otherwise it makes no business sense to do it. Simple as that. Besides, no DLC is necessary for the game to be well worth the money since Dragon Age contains a massive 800 thousand words of dialogue and story, that you decided to skip.

If you want multiplayer, go play an MMO or FPS, since depth of content is obviously not your forte.

Why? You'd just skip it anyways like you did the other 75% of the game

This game is my second Diablo. i love playing it over and over, no point in sprinting through it. all the different choices make it so fun, would be better if it was balanced with co-op play or some lil 4v4 multiplay :P

Another one rushing through  a game to set a new speed record and then complains about lack of content, too high price or whatever. Skipping many quests and the heart of RPG: character and team progression which are in the side stories and dialog options.

So why does such a person play RPG at all? There are shooter games out there... Image IPB

OP is obviously a troll, but perception is the darndest thing! I'm almost done with my second playthrough and I have well over 100 hours of play time in (I think first took 60-70, this one 40 so far). For $60 that's about the best value for my entertainment $ possible. One night at the movies with the wife and kids is far more expensive than that.

I'm still baffled that people have such an issue with DLC. They create a game, you purcahse the game as it stands. You've made a rational economic decision that for what you are getting it is worth $60.00.

I don't care if they have 200 DLC modules created and ready roll right now. The game, in the state I bought it, was worth my purchase price - more so at that than most other games I've bought on a hours/$$$$ basis let alone dealing with the quality. That was my decision. Now I can mak further decisions on future content and the value/ fun that it will provide.

I do think the DLC is a little overpriced, given that they have the engine and most of the art resources from the main campaign, it's really just the modding work and the modules are no where near as long the premium modules for NWN. It seems like it should be 2 or 3 dollars for DLC they're producing. But I suppose the market drives the price.
